“I had previously used Lasting Construction in 2018 to fix my gutters and I remembered they were great. So recently in a big storm when I was concerned there was damage to my roof, I called them again. They came out and inspected my roof, gave it a clean bill of health, and still showed me a couple things I didn't know. “Tony and his team did a great job replacing our roof and attic fan at a fair, competitive price. Tony’s years of experience and his attentiveness helped us make the decision to go with his company and we were not disappointed. He actually pointed out things to me that I brought up from other quotes, where others included “x” sheets of plywood in the quote, and he said to make sure they’d reduce the price if it wasn’t needed. He charges a set price per sheet and would show you what’s removed so you know you’re not getting ripped off. That was also a factor in our decision. While looking for companies, I had learned from others that some companies like to take advantage by either padding the amount needed without showing you what they removed, or by including an assumed number of sheets that you’ll need in the quote. To find that Tony even brought up that issue so I’d know to look out for it made me feel that he looks out for others and has integrity. I found the way that Tony approaches the plywood to be the best and it shows that they’re honest. They showed up on time, finished on time and cleaned up thoroughly. We planned out the entire roofing process with Ryan, the owner, who was super responsive, helpful and went out of his way to answer my questions and ensure I was educated on the whole process. He even helped us pick out shingle colors the night before our choice was due! I met our foreman Tito about a week before the job because he drove all the way out to our place to do his due diligence and assess the property so he came prepared with his crew the day of (we already knew we were in really good hands at this point). Tito and his crew were warm, accommodating, meticulous and went out of their way to ensure the job was done right. We have a large roof with lots of details, were on a tight move-in timeline and were expecting rain the next day so Ryan sent out about 16 guys to ensure they could complete the (meticulous) job all in one day. Even my GM said he was shocked at how good and efficient and focused they were. On top of that, we encountered some last minute challenges (it's an old house) and Tito and some of his guys stayed until it was pitch black out making sure they could fix the issue - which was not of their own making - and make it look as aesthetically pleasing as possible. Most of all, they were clear, consistent and considerate communicators - Tito kept me posted on every development along the way and took the time to explain all the details to me. As if this isn't enough and you aren't convinced that Proven Contracting is the best option in the NJ area, they also offered me the cheapest estimate out of the three companies we were recommended.
