Beware of going to any medical center as a lot of them have Garden State Healthcare Associates working in their facilities who DO NOT participate with a lot of medical plans thus you will be billed for your hospital or facility visit AND you will be billed separately for these specific doctors services. The facility WILL NOT tell you nor will the doctor tell you beforehand that their services do not fall under the hospital network. It's only once you receive the bill in the mail stating you have to pay an additional $200 to them, on top of what you have to pay to the hospital. This is the company that manages, among others, the Hoboken University Medical Center. Beware, they will rip you off. I stayed at the Hoboken hospital for an appendicitis surgery, an urgent situation. I thought my Aetna plan would cover most costs, but the way Garden State bills you and the way they send people to visit you in the room only to add to expenses, made the total bill a nightmare. Aetna refused to pay for several items, even in the urgent care situation. So, check before going to a medical institution if they have links with Garden State Healthcare Associates. If so, forget it, unless you have plenty of money.
