City By The Sea Veterinary

I have nothing but great things to say about this vet office. I am a crazy cat mom and I am a very anxious person when it comes to my animals. I found out on Sunday that my cat Scout would need a cystotomy surgery for a bladder stone. I called city by the sea on Monday (they were recommended to me by a ton of people on Facebook) and they got me in the same night for appointment. Dr. Santos-Melody spent so much time with me, doing an extensive evaluation on Scout, went over his blood work, his surgery, and answered any and all questions I had. She was incredible. We originally scheduled the surgery for the 18th but I called and expressed how stressed I was about the position he was in and they moved his surgery up for me. This has been such a crazy few days and I cannot express how easy they have made this process. Their staff, pricing, availability and all around business is just amazing. I seriously could not recommend them enough. Thank you to Karen, Dr. Santos-Melody and to the owner Dr. Tom for working with me and doing all you can do for my baby boy. I so so so so appreciate it !!

I had been using a VCA hospital for my greyhounds care but when I moved to Asbury I figured I would try this practice. I was not disappointed at all. They took my greyhound in for an initial appointment and did a thorough exam. Unfortunately the next day my other greyhound who was much older took a turn for the worse. (We had been in and out of RBVH for the past month.) I decided it would be best to consider helping her cross the rainbow bridge. The doctors at City by the Sea did a thorough exam to ease my worries about whether this was a sound decision. I was ensured that at 12 years old Piper had a great life and was not a sure fire candidate for the surgeries she would require to address her spinal and intracranial disease. They helped me
Make the decision to allow Piper to cross the rainbow bridge peacefully. Afterwards they called me when Pipers ashes were ready and even put together a sample of pipers hair and a beautiful rainbow rock. This vet is not pushy, or $ motivated. I have had nothing but good experiences with them and fully intend to patron City by the Sea for all of my canines as long as I live in the area! ❤️

What a wonderful experience we had at City by the Sea!! Our sheltie was so sick and the front desk was able to accommodate us the same day eventhough we were new clients to them. When we got there, Emily came out from around the desk just to introduce herself to our pup!! We couldn't believe she took the time to do that!! It was so nice. Dr. Murray knew our pup had blood in her stool just by the smell. It was amazing!! And the vet tech was covered in sheltie hair by the time we left and simply laughed it off with a smile when we apologized. This will ABSOLUTELY be our new Vet for our Sheltie. We are so grateful to you all ??

This is a VERY busy veterinary clinic. That said, EVERY single person was attentive, caring, friendly, informative, and looking out for the best interest of pet and pet person!

I help a neighbor take care of two wonderful feral-born cats who have adopted us as their humans, and we bring them to City by the Sea for their check-ups and immunizations. The vets and the entire staff here are wonderful with our little fur babies!

We have been using City by the sea for our 4 cats and 1 dog since the practice opened in Asbury. I am there so often and from the front desk to the techs to the drs, they always show care and compassion. I want to give a special shout out to Dr. Falvey who always gives my very scared pup her valuable time and always listens to me. She is compassionate, gentle, extremely knowledgeable in her profession and kind hearted !!

We were visiting Ocean Grove for our annual trip and our almost 13 year old pup, Fritz, became ill, needing their urgent care services. Fritz has chronic medical problems, including Cushings. I can’t say enough about both the staff and Dr. Coughlin. Not only did we get a same day appointment, the staff contacted our regular vet for medical information before we arrived. It was also clear that Dr. Coughlin took the time to review Fritz’s records and she provided Fritz with excellent care. The post visit communication was excellent too. We will definitely use City By the Sea again - if we need to!

Thrilled with the level of service and expertise City by the Sea presented. The vetenarian explained all results of exam and testing clearly and concisely. My 3 year old min-pin even enjoyed his visit!!

I recently moved to Jersey not long ago with our family dog Clyde. We traveled back and forth to Brooklyn to his vet when needed as he had kidney disease for a long time. My boys life was coming to an end, stopped eating and we knew it was time. All this time being in contact with his vet in Brooklyn, they were unavailable to assist us with euthanasia and we didn’t want him to suffer any longer. My fiancé found city by the sea, and they assisted us. When I tell you this was one of the worst days of my life, losing our boy, but this practice, they were so patient and kind, gentle, made sure our boy was so comfortable. A room to ourselves with blankets, a couch, goodbye treats, and time with him until we were ready to let go. I was able to hold him in my arms as he passed, And even after my boy was gone, they still gave us all the time we needed. We picked up my boys ashes today. When I tell you, I will be forever grateful for this practice. Letting go of our family dog was so heartbreaking, but they were all so comforting to us. The ashes box is beautifully engraved, they even gave us his paw print and nose print on paper and sand. Thank you so much city by the sea for being so professional, kind and HUMAN. You don’t see that much nowadays. Thank you.
