“We've been fortunate to have a professional cleaner for the last few years. This person comes into your home and over time gets to know you as well as you learn about them. Due to unfortunate circumstances this person had to relocate and it was a sad goodbye. That said now the search continued. We interviewed a few companies and tried two different ones and realized it wasn't a good fit and mutually agreed to go separate ways. The search continues again. It's now been several months since we lost our preferred cleaning company and dealing with trial and error. I had 2 interviews set up and Dorie at Hey Day cleaners was the first of the two. Dorie was on time, presented herself with confidence and had the resume to back it up. She vetted well and it felt like it could be a good fit. We have 2 large dogs (3 if you figure in the shedding) so I prefer to take them out of the house while people are working especially cleaning. For the first official visit she was on time and went above and beyond our expectations. Everyone's home is unique and of course I already knew the spots that she'd miss and I'd discuss it with her after the job was done. To our surprise there really wasn't anything to mention other than WOW! During our interview I explained that I'm big into communication and feel free to text or call me with any questions or concerns vs walking into surprises or as I call it blindsided. Her communication was as on point as her thorough cleaning. The Myrtle Beach area has expanded dramatically over the last few years and lots of people are looking for extra money and think cleaning is an easy way to make money which is why the labor pool is flooded with inexperienced people who adopt a title vs a professional cleaner who takes pride in their business and reputation. I'd 100% recommend Hey Day cleaners and would be more than willing to be used as a reference something I don't throw around lightly. I've been a resident of Myrtle Beach for almost 25 years and have a reputation of trust that I've earned. I truly feel that we have been fortunate to be in the right place at the right time and fate brought us together. I'm looking forward to a long working relationship with her company and have already passed her information onto others. We had to move my MIL out of Berwick, ME, due to her needing treatment in NC for cancer. It all happened very suddenly over Thanksgiving 2023, and then she had a stroke and was stuck in rehab until late December. My wife and daughter went up to help her recover and her townhouse was an absolute nightmarish mess. Despite numerous visits from the family, who cleaned every time they visited over the 17 years she lived in that place she literally NEVER cleaned in between annual visits. I mean her place was a complete dump, and my wife and kids did what they could once a year.

I mean we are talking stains that could not be removed, carpets covered with a layer of lint thicker than the actual carpet, HVAC vents never dusted for 17 years. Revolting right? Right.

Well, in April 2024 we needed to sell her place after moving her to NC, and we needed the proceeds of sale to pay for her cancer drugs, which cost $3800 per month! Needless to say, even a few extra $$$ from a prospective buyer is enough to keep her alive for longer without us diving into our nest egg.

Enter Ready Maids. Super professional intake process, went through it with us room by room to develop an estimate. Gave us a very detailed contract. Full “listing ready” cleaning for a 1400 square foot 3BR, 2.5 BA condo, down to the details of what they were going to do in each room.

They showed up on time, and in full. Equipment like I’ve never seen. I thought they were going to build a house, not clean one! Power brushes, cleaning products that I’ve never heard of, and an incredible attention to detail and positive attitude.

In this era where shoddy work is the norm, these guys are the embodiment of a time gone by, when able bodied American workers took pride in their work and charged a fair price, in exchange for word of mouth and a good reputation so they could build their American dream.

They went over time by a full day, but only charged a nominal extra amount for the extra work. Their word is their bond, and they kept to the terms of the contract I signed. Indeed - they did much more than live up to their end.
