Hello, This contractor never registered our roof for the guarantee and now we are trying to reach them with no luck. I have complained to Gaf and his Nashua insurance company, no luck so far.
Unfortunately, this contractor used POCON as subcontractors and then blocked all of our numbers from making calls to him. Unfortunate situation for a guy we understood through divorce and family illnesses for being behind on payments. Too sad it had to come to this but over $10,000 owed for two homes and he responds to no emails/call or messages.
The good: These guys are fast. Had a complex roof (Dutch Colonial with multiple dormers and low-slope bump-outs). They managed to strip (3 layers of shingles); repair (rotted or damaged roofing boards); apply water shield (100% coverage) and shingle in 2 days. The bad: These guys are not craftsmen - they simply rip, tear, and slap on new. At the outset of the project, I expressed concern about the complexities of my roof. Mark assured me they could handle everything. I was surprised that the watershield was applied in small sections - I'm used to seeing this applied in full sheets, in rows the length of the area being covered. From the ground, the completed job looked great. It wasn't until a few months after that I had to get on the roof to clear leaves and I found the issues shown in the pictures. When I called, I was told they don't do trim work, and that those areas are my responsibility. I was not pleased. Based on our initial conversations, I got (verbal) assurances that they could handle all of the complex areas of this job. Of course now that they've been paid, they can claim anything they want. In conclusion: These guys are just a slap-and-dash outfit with little concern for quality. Lesson to self: get all of the details in writing BEFORE accepting a bid - and withhold payment until full inspection.
