We have taken our cats here for quite some time. Except for a one-time billing issue, we have always received caring and informational treatment of our babies. Although the location is somewhat inconvenient, the staff has been very loving and caring for our cats. We will continue to give them our business. But, bring a checkbook. They charge a fee to use cards, which I HATE.

We have a 15 year old dog with a possible nose tumor and recurrent seizures. We have seen both doctors and they have helped us through this hard time with exams, advice, compassion and needed medications that have helped give Trixie more time with us and a better quality of life in the time she has left.

Very disappointed, was left what sounded like a confident message that the owner and manager would deliver on a request. A week later they went back on their word, saying it was a miss communication. Not at all the facts were laid on the table right from the start. Such a rotten thing to do

I will preface this by saying that I don't believe my experience should in any way prevent someone else from using them if they have a pet in need, but we took my dog there twice -- once, in the beginning, to discover what was wrong with him, and then, again, when we were still no further along with a solution.

The first time, they said that he was just sick -- that he'd caught a virus. The charge me $300, I bring him home, give him the pills... Nothing!

And so we return! Dog goes in, but this time they suggest X-Rays. Mind you, they previously stated that they didn't think he had a blockage, but they went forward with the X-Rays despite never doing a blood test. We look at the X-Rays... Can't find anything. They then send me home with an extra $80 in nausea pills.

So, I'm now $600 in and nowhere near an answer. Which, and I mean this, I do not *care* about the money. All I care about is my dog's life, but it just seemed they were more interested in draining me of my bank account than actually caring for my dog.

They chose to name their business compassion. They should honor that title, or else they should just retire it. I took my dog to a separate vet today, the VCA in Boscawen, and it was a night-and-day difference. They had compassion. They actually cared, sincerely, for the welfare of my dog and seemed determined to get him to a solution. That is all that I care about!

We had an incredible, warm and lovely first visit today with Dr. Mills. Every single staff member we interacted with was incredible, and I had immediate trust with them handling our fur baby. I can’t recommend them enough! Thank you so much for your care, knowledge and compassion!

Dr. Richter is the absolute best - especially if you have aging animals like I do. Dr. Mills is great too, you can't go wrong with Compassion. We go well out of our way for them - I highly recommend!

Do. Not. Use.They literally charged us $470 to tell us they didn't know what was wrong with our dog.Frustrated, we went home and were able to narrow down her illness to a mouth issue using resources from the internet. Compassion never even looked in her mouth when we brought her in. We got her a same day appointment at VCA Capital Area Veterinary Emergency and Specialty in Concord. They brought her in and immediately diagnosed her issue, which was a large cancerous tumor in her throat. They confirmed that not only had Compassion failed at giving her a thorough and appropriate exam, Compassion specifically misinterpreted the results of the blood test they ran, telling us she had a "slightly elevated" reading when in fact that specific reading was more than six times the normal level and a clear indication of cancer.Research Compassion Vet very carefully. They have had more than one report of significant incompetence.Don't risk it.
