DR. Haschke did a fantastic job explaining to myself and my husband as to what my next steps were. She was very professional and gave me the time respect and courtesy as well as the front staff and technicians who helped me. They will put you at ease and make referrals if need be. UPDATE: Over the past eight months, I have been diligently seeking a qualified neurologist with expertise in visual impairments resulting from complications of cataract surgery, in hopes of addressing the damage to my vision. I have recently been informed that I am experiencing symptoms consistent with Irlen Syndrome, which appears to stem from the complications of my procedure, along with potential additional issues that remain under evaluation. Given the limited number of specialists who treat neurological or perceptual visual disorders arising from surgical complications such as these, locating appropriate care has proven exceptionally challenging and time-consuming. In light of the circumstances, I am formally requesting a full refund of the fees paid to Omaha Eye & Laser Institute. This request is based on what I believe to be negligence in the preoperative and postoperative care provided. Specifically, the failure to administer the appropriate preoperative eye drops and the omission of prescribed medicated postoperative drops contributed directly to the adverse outcomes I have experienced. I hold Dr. Liu and the practice accountable for ensuring a safe surgical process and adequate follow-up care, and I consider these oversights to be the primary cause of the resulting vision impairment.I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter and a written response outlining your position, along with any steps the practice is prepared to take to resolve this issue. I remain available to discuss this further or provide additional documentation as needed.Thank you for your consideration.
My vision was way better before I had cataract surgery at Omaha Eye & Laser. I was coerced into getting the YAG procedure after the cataract surgery failed to provide better vision. The doctor did not provide me with a prescription that was needed for the YAG surgery; I guess they just forgot, so after the first YAG, my left eye swelled up and was so painful that I was completely incapacitated. I was in severe pain for 3 days until one of the doctors realized they did not provide me with the proper medication that was to be used. I received no apology for their mistake, nor have I received any help to repair my vision. Now I live with daily headaches and ocular migraines, on top of several other negative side effects from the surgeries. I was ignored, treated rudely, and gaslit when I attempted to remedy the issues caused by the surgeries. Now I am being told that these doctors permanently damaged my eyes, so I have to live with this the rest of my life with no compensation. These doctors seem to lack concern for their patients. I am telling anyone and everyone I know who may need eye surgery so they can be aware of how this facility treats its patients.

I found the staff to be very personable and efficient. All my questions and concerns were addressed and answered in a thorough and thoughtful manner. My input and preferences were considered in the decision making process. Time was taken to ensure I understood every step in the evaluation process. The appointment went very great from checking in to checking out.
The staff are very good at explaining every step, even the doctor told me what he was doing as he did it.
Seldom does one see such professionalism and basic kindness mixed with such ease...
ADDED: It even gets better; not only do they call to follow up after your home and Dr. Liu himself called. The next morning they followed up as well.
I love the results so far.. I have no doubts when my left eye is done next week (1/15/26) that the results are going to be more than satisfactory!

My experience with the Omaha Lincoln Eye and Laser Institute was a good one as I was a bit apprehensive. Having been told that I had cataracts in both eyes here I was to fact find about what could be done. All the staff were courteous. My technician was helpful and informative as we went through the testing. My doctor was courteous and professional and understanding of my concern. We discussed the evaluation and I left informed, at ease and knowing the future in regards to my eyes. As well the waiting room area was comfortable and restrooms readily available. Thank you to all the staff and the tech mission that helped me and the doctors who evaluated me I will see you at my next appointment in the future. Have a merry Christmas and happy holidays.
