We have used Hans Heating and Air for decades; their annual service plan for our first home, they installed the furnace and air conditioner when we built our second home, and now a new air conditioner 17 years later. Negotiating a bid was a bit of a burden. Any HVAC company has got to expect a customer to get multiple bids and tree to get the best deal for your family. Especially in this economy. The person in charge of that doesn't handle this very well and his comments lead one to believe he doesn't have the aptitude for Negotiating. My 10 yr old A/C unit was out of refrigerant due to a leak in the line (on a Saturday). River City, whom I had used in the past,,had come out for a $200 service call and quoted me $175/ lb to fill line , 3.5 hr job, and $2190 to repair the pinhole leak ($2390 total with service call). I sent a picture to on call rep at Hans and I was quoted $90 service call, $90/lb to fill, 1.5 hr job. I paid just over $800 and the system works great! I understand competition in industries, but I was treated with respect by Hans . The tech that came out was very knowledgeable and friendly. He kept me informed while completing a thermostat replacement and also gave me advice regarding maintenance and cleaning of my HVAC system.
