Putting the animal first is always their priority. I've taken my dogs to Dr. Henning for 5+ years, I appreciate his honesty and care for my animals.

Doc Henning has taken care of our 4 dogs for the last 25 years, including some very difficult situations. He, and his staff, is always thorough, honest and caring. I highly recommend Gretna Animal Clinic.

Have been taking my senior chihuahua mix to Dr. Henning for just under 3 years. I have felt pretty comfortable with him in that time, until last week when my girl was gravely ill. His bedside manner has always been so so, but I always felt he was knowledgeable and was going to take good care of her. Last week though, his bedside manner was terrible and he did not take good care of her. He basically said she was fine (although she was not) and to keep giving her lasex which she was not responding well to after 3 days of uae and to not feed her anything other than kibble ever, even though she was in severe distress and had vomited 10 times. He even went so far as to say, 'She is 13.5, nothing but kibble ever for her ever again! When we get old and go into nursing homes, we don't get treats, we only get the nutrition we need!' (I feel sorry for his folks if he was or is there caregiver!!)

Fast forward 30 hours from that point, I took her to a different vet, who changed up her treatment, said he didn't see any symptoms indicating the need for lasex (which I had already discontinued despite Henning's instructions), gave her a more suitable medication for her nausea (Henning had only provided Zofran), gave her a medication to stop her vomiting as she had not stopped vomiting yet at that point, and helped come up with a strategy to get her to eat.

She took 3 more days to start coming back around, but she is now being her bossy and energetic tail wagging self.

I feel if I had not moved her care, she might not be with us today. So thankful I did and she is.

Dr. Henning and staff was nothing short of Outstanding! He was up front and honest about the treatment options.
They handled the passing of our beloved pet with compassion.

If possible ld give six stars. We have a cattle dog blue heeler/Kangel mix,big guy. No vet we went to would give him proper care cause of his size and deep voice. Excuse was always vet trama. We needed something more and we found it here!
From first step in the door our pup was at ease, not normal for a vet visit. The staff is amazing ,calm when he popped up to say high at the counter.
In the room it was right to work . Nurses were very nice while doing what needed to be done.explained everything as we went. Shows us how to do at home things like ear cleanings.
Vet came in very nice man. Straight to work and explained as he went . Knows his stuff.
Answered all our questions.

Terrible first impression. I called early in the morning and was put on hold for 15 minutes. Called back again after hanging up and not even given an apology instead, told I must've called a different place. Even though I dialed the same number twice. Not friendly or welcoming at all. Which is unfortunate as we wanted to make this our puppies long term physician, reviews made them seem like a good long term vet. Not the case for us.

The veterinarian doctor and his staff take very good care of our pets.

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Henning and the entire team at the clinic! As a cat breeder, I have multiple cats, and it's essential for me to have a veterinarian who is knowledgeable, patient, and attentive. Dr. Henning consistently impresses me with his dedication to animal care and his commitment to cleanliness in the clinic. Everything is meticulously cleaned between patients, which gives me great peace of mind.

What truly stands out is how Dr. Henning takes the time to address all my questions, no matter how trivial they may seem. He has a remarkable ability to explain complex topics in a way that is easy to understand. I never feel rushed or like a hassle; instead, he makes me feel valued and appreciated as a pet owner. It’s refreshing to find a veterinarian who genuinely cares about both the animals and their owners. I’m grateful to have Dr. Henning as my vet, and I wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone looking for exceptional care for their cats!

Doc and his staff are top notch. His approach to animal care is unparalleled. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my animals needs. He really cares and his staff does too. I would give him 10+ stars if the app allowed. Our family is grateful for him! Highly highly recommend.
