About The Farmers' Daughter
The Farmers' Daughter is a family-owned strawberry and mixed vegetable farm that has been in operation since 2008. The farm offers a wide variety of fresh, seasonal produce, including approximately 3 acres of strawberries and 10 acres of mixed vegetables. It also runs a 50+ member CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program that has been active since 2009. In addition to the farm, the Douglas family operates a year-round country store, deli, and ice cream parlor that opened in 2022. Customers can enjoy delicious sandwiches made to order, such as the acclaimed Cuban sandwich, and there is a large selection of jarred products, homemade bread, and cookies. Reviewers have praised the farm's exceptional strawberries, describing them as "the best in North Carolina," with a deep red color and sweet flavor. The tomatoes have also received high praise, with many stating they are the best they’ve had all summer. The produce is consistently fresh, picked the same morning it is sold. The farm's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has earned it a loyal following in the local community and the southeastern region. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff further enhance the experience, making it a great stop for seasonal produce, jams, jellies, local honey, and dairy items.
Staff was great. Good selection of fresh products, we got apples but we haven’t tried them yet. We had a chocolate and a strawberry milkshake and they were the best! My wife had the BBQ sandwich and loved it. I had the Reuben and also loved mine. Our son played on the playground out back and had lots of fun. Overall a tremendous experience and we will be back!
Friendly folks, excellent local produce much of it growing on their farm behind the country store.
Good variety of jams, jellies and the like.
Fresh baked local sourdough bread, local Asian pears (huge).
The only thing I left out were fresh dried beans, fresh nuts, ice cream and fresh deli sandwiches!
Do not pass by if you want pretty local produce and other delicious treats!!
I come here for fresh vegetables like tomatoes, onions and squash. They have other vegetables as well . They also have bags of cornmeal, pancake mix and buckwheat pancake mix . There's also a little cafe in the new bldg (with tables ) where they make and sell sandwiches and other items. Great place and it's a nice drive out there on a pretty day. But not Mondays as they are closed!
