I’d also like to address how professional and proactive the business side of Comfort Keepers has been. Clear communication, in writing, from beginning to end. Rates (which are literally identical to the competition), scope of care, emergency procedures, and reporting methodology have been met and followed to the Tee. If a Comfort Keeper has a last-minute emergency, I’m notified right away. Never once has Mary been left alone to worry what was happening. It’s as if Comfort Keepers not only cares for my aunt but cares for me, too. Billing is timely and to the penny of what I calculated. Every call or text I’ve sent has been answered immediately. I have never once, not one time, ended a communication with confusion or irritation or disappointment. Not once. I have learned from my experience that I can fully trust everyone at Comfort Keepers: the director, the weekend and after-hours management, and the caregivers in the field.

And finally, the friendship these saints have freely offered my aunt has brought not just her health back, but her soul, too. Having lived alone as long as she has, she didn’t realize how lonely she’d gotten. One caregiver brought my aunt a Valentine’s Day surprise. Another visited her in the hospital just as a friend. A few have called me – with permission – directly to address specific health concerns. From my vantage point, I have my Aunt back again. Her personality is front and center, and she has set some goals for this year and next. Back in December I would have dubbed that “unrealistic”. Thanks to Comfort Keepers I was able to step down my aunt’s care from 24 hours, to 12, to five a day.
