JMS has done work for me several times over the years. My roof is a tricky one- ceramic tile. The most recent repair was of a chronic (90-plus years) leak at a chimney. It was difficult work, and demanded meticulous attention, which it received at the hands of JMS's expert, seasoned crew. It is not every day that one can find a company who will address such a project, much less with such a thoroughgoing understanding of its entailments. The woman who took my call struggled to communicate. I have a 100 year-old terne metal roof that needs re-coating. She looked on-line to see the roof and said it wasn't this specific tin shingle that is high-end, maybe, because she couldn't really tell with the trees. After several minutes and attempts to clarify, she finally said coating the roof doesn't seem to be working since I need to do it every 12 to 15 years (which is typical maintenance) so why would I do it again. After several more minutes and attempts to clarify and dragging it out of her, she finally suggested I replace my 100 year old historic roof with asphalt shingles; and then acknowledged that wasn't really possible because the house is in a historic district. If this is my experience just trying to get a quote, I'm not sure it would be a good experience working with the company.
