Not pleased with the professionalism at this place. My first clue should have been when I requested an Invisalign consultation online. I requested it to be after 4 so I could go after work. I was scheduled for 3:30. When I called to rectify that, I was told they don’t see new patients after 3:30. I was ok with that. The receptionist went on to say something about my appointment being an emergency appointment. I told her it was not an emergency, it was for Invisalign. I showed up for my 3:30 appointment today 10 minutes early. 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time I went up to the front desk asking how long the wait would be as I originally wanted an appointment after 4 and it was looking like I wasn’t even going to be seen at 4. I was told one of the operatories went down and someone called out. I asked why the patients were not notified of this. She said “We didn’t know an operatory was going to go down.” But you knew someone had called out…. I waited for 15 more minutes as patients who arrived later than I did were called back and decided to leave. Normally I’m very patient but when I’m told to show up earlier than I requested and then am not even seen at the time I requested, my patience is gone. Also there does not seem to be very much privacy at this practice. The whole time I was in the waiting room I could hear someone loudly discussing a patient’s financials with them. As in loud enough for everyone to clearly hear the exact facts and figures. At one point either the dentist or a hygienist was telling the receptionist all about her upcoming trip to NYC. Clearly, patients are not the priority here.

I never actually made it to my appointment, but still would not recommend. My gut feeling was to cancel the appointment after changing my appointment time to give someone else my appointment. The only way I found out was by text message giving me a different appointment. What doctor’s office does that??!! I felt very unimportant and I was very unimpressed. I then decided to look at other reviews. I thought about it for 24 hours and decided this is not the place to go. I found another dentist rather quickly.

I went to this practice five times between January and September of 2024. I kept thinking it would get better but it never did. At my initial visit, they did an exam and lots of imaging but no actual cleaning. They explained that they don’t do cleanings on the first new patient visit, but they didn’t tell me that when I scheduled, which was frustrating. So, I had to take time off work *again* to return for a cleaning just a few weeks later. I’ve never had more cavities diagnosed than during my time with this practice. One of my fillings was done poorly and I had to go back for a couple of adjustments, one requiring her to re-drill and fill in the area with more resin. The tooth still isn’t quite right (I went to a new dentist today and he said the tooth and filling weren’t shaped correctly). Every time I went to the practice, I found the staff to be harried and disorganized. It always felt like a stressful environment. I kept thinking maybe they were having an “off” day, but it was like that every time. The same was true for Dr. Woodell herself - she was nice enough to me, but wait times during procedures (fillings) were long, she always seemed overbooked and stressed, and she was quite abrasive and gruff, especially with her staff, whom she had to train/teach during procedures on how to do basic things, like how to hold the instruments and how to successfully numb patients (me!). I’ve never had much dental anxiety but I do now. When I went to a new dentist today, the difference was palpable. Everyone was calm, professional, organized, prompt, efficient, and gentle. The whole atmosphere was the same. Also, no cavities found (!) despite Dr. Woodell diagnosing two that I was supposed to have filled in January.
