I started training here as a complete beginner and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to learn. The instructors that I have worked with (Corbett, Jackson) are welcoming, patient, knowledgeable, and supportive. They have a knack for breaking down the moves in a way that makes them easy to learn w/o making one feel, in anyway, intimidated. Good coaches attract/keep good students, and this is evident here - all the students I have worked with are, likewise, welcoming and supportive. Each class is full of a positive energy that keeps you engaged and motivated so much so that the hour-long classes pass real quick! I was a student at KMR nearly 8 years ago, left because life happened, and have now returned. The quality of instruction has always been very high but the classes/workshops offered now and the pricing structure used vs when I attended previously is an even better value than before. The community feel Ken and his team has built is also top notch. Definitely a great fit if you are looking for quality self-defense instruction, fitness, and non-competition sparring opportunities
I am brand new to Krav Maga, though I have pondered becoming a student for several years now. I wasn't sure at first where to go to be trained, though I knew one thing innately - it needed to be someplace with a strong sense of community and collaboration, as I find this to be indispensable in learning such skills. I have definitely found that at Krav Maga Raleigh. Since I started, I have been embraced by a wonderful group of folks, who are very serious about what they teach, but still do so with a sense of caring about the individual, and even a some humor as well. I think I have found a home.
