We changed providers at 36 weeks pregnant. Capital OB was top notch from the very first phone call. From the questions, scheduling, explanation, ER visits, appointment and ultrasound, this practice gave 100% the moment contact was made. The healthcare field has become very impersonal over the years but this practice goes above and beyond to ensure you know your value as a patient. They enjoy what they do and they do it well. I’m only sorry I didn’t listen sooner and change providers long before 36 weeks. Would recommend this practice to any woman seeking individualized OB care from providers who genuinely care and practice out of love.

Capital Area OB/Gyn saw me through my two pregnancies in the last few years and I am pleased with the service I received through all the office visits and births. Scheduling was always easy and wait times were minimal with the exception of once the doctor was running behind. Having two offices, one in Cary as well, was nice too. The front desk is organized and professional. There wasn't ever any confusion, mess ups, or slowness on their part. They are on their game! The receptionists, nurses, techs, billing specialist, and doctors have all been pleasant to work with. I had a few conversations with the billing specialist; she was so courteous and addressed my circumstances efficiently. Capital Area OB is a practice, so there are maybe six doctors now. I had appointments with all of them throughout my pregnancies, to get to know them so I'd be familiar with whoever ended up on call when labor occured. I really liked doing that and felt cared for, listened to, and not just a 'patient' by all of them , especially Dr. Recknagel, Richardson, Sellers, and Buckley. And let me tell you- I asked tons of questions. Not going to lie- going from seeing them so often in late pregnancy to not all postpartum (beside my six week check up of course), makes me feel like I'm leaving a relationship! I really have been satisfied with my experiences with this practice.

Currently pregnant with my second. For my third I will find an OB where I can see the same doctor every time. Maggie Darst is the best one there and requesting her is met with attitude. I have not liked two of the doctors I saw and when scheduling I requested to not see them and again met with attitude that “we give you what’s available.” It’s a check your chart real quick. Do you have any questions ok bye kind of Obgyn with most of the doctors here.
