The week before Christmas our neighbors had a tree limb fall and tear our power lines down and in that process it tore our meter off the pole. Duke energy was so nice to NOT inform of us this and once we found out we were told it was because they were doing routine inspections on meters in our area due to the hurricane and customer complaints of high power bills and they found our meter to be dangling and removed meter. (Wrong neighbors called in due to down live power lines) They tried telling me we hadn’t had power in months funny since we had power that morning and power bills since (and no way to contact us) but whatever. So in order to have the meter replaced and power restored we had to have an electrician come out and install a new meter box and obtain a permit for new meter box and then it would have to be inspected by the county before the power could be cut back on ? (all this at Christmas and New Year’s). We made one call to Jim Carroll at Carrolls Mountainside Electric Inc. and they took care of everything. They worked to have everything done as quickly as possibly. I am happy to say we finally got our power back on today (had to wait for inspectors and Duke).
If we hadn’t had to have the permit the power would have been back on long time ago thanks to Carroll’s speedy response.
