Grandmaster Lewis' Martial Arts is a renowned martial arts school in Carteret County, led by an 8th Degree Black Belt Grandmaster with a passion for teaching. Grandmaster Russell Lewis, a native of the area, began his martial arts journey at the age of 8 under the guidance of his grandfather, who studied Judo during World War II. Since 1990, Grandmaster Lewis has been providing high-quality martial arts instruction, with a focus on Korean Karate, Chung Do Kwan, and Taekwondo. He has earned multiple National and World Championship titles, making him a true master of his craft. Students, including young Eli, have praised Grandmaster Lewis' exceptional teaching abilities, patience, and ability to instill discipline and build character in children. The school's classes are a popular choice for families, with both kids and adults enjoying the instruction and the opportunity to learn from a true martial arts expert.
All three of my kids thoroughly enjoyed learning from Master Lewis. He was hugely encouraging and supportive while keeping the kids engaged and making time for laughs. My youngest is currently taking lessons and cannot wait to go to class. As a mom, I am always looking for extracurricular activities that will keep my kids active and learning a skill. This is not only keeping my daughter active, but her self confidence has exploded. She is more respectful at home too, which is an added bonus. I can't recommend Grandmaster Lewis' Martial Arts enough.

This class is absolutely perfect for our Little Eli! I chose this as a gift for my Grandson and he has only been to a couple of lessons but watching him become serious about this sport just warms my heart. The perfect gift for a child instead of toys. The Grand Master is amazing with these kiddos!
