We hired AVC to replace our existing roof with a “Fortified” roof, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. They came highly recommended as qualified contractors for this specialized work, and their professionalism, attention to detail, and quality craftsmanship proved why. I had my roof replaced October 2024. Because I live on the North Carolina coast, I wanted the best roof construction I could get in order to protect my home from the damages of hurricanes. I replaced my roof under the North Carolina insurance underwriters association grant program, strengthen your coastal roof, which requires roofs to be installed in accordance with IBHS Fortified construction standards,. As part of this process, I selected three contractors to submit price quotes for my roof replacement. of the three quotes, only two included all of my roof, the sloped roof and the low slope roof. Of those two American value contracting was the lowest and most complete quote. They itemized all of the construction and listed all of the options available. they also listed potential additional costs if there was unseen damage to my roof construction or the existing construction of my low slope roof was not in accordance with Fortified roofing standards and so would need to be upgraded. upon signing the contract, they gave me a three week window in which they would be installing my roof. They installed it the second week of that window. they arrived at 7:15 AM on Monday morning with a large crew, and the main roof of my 1500 square-foot home was completed in one day. it took them another day and a half to complete the low slope roof over my screened porch. prior to starting the roof removal, they laid tarps all around my home to protect the landscaping, lawn and sidewalks. One of the notable things that I really appreciated about them, was when they needed to park a truck that had an oil leak, in my driveway, they protected the driveway by putting a piece of plywood under the truck engine. that made me feel like they really cared about my home as much as I do. also, during the construction, any slight modifications that needed to be made. They cleared with me first. these guys worked from the time they arrived until the time they left, except for their lunch break, with the speed and profficiency, I have not seen in a long time. after finishing the main roof, they removed all of the debris on the ground around my house. If it weren’t for the sign out at the street, you would never know they had been here. they had to take the gutters down in order to install the membrane on the low sloped roof. After installation, they reinstalled the gutters. They might have left without my knowing any different, but later that day they returned to caulk the interior joints of the gutter. another small detail that I really appreciated.
