Based on the reviews, Pappy's Cuts is an old time 1-chair barbershop providing men's haircuts since 1996. It is walk-ins ONLY with NO APPOINTMENTS and no kids under 10 years old. The nice guy, Dave, does an excellent job, especially with cowlicks. Most haircuts take about 10-15 minutes and there is usually a wait, but the waiting room has a Flat screen TV. The price is excellent at $10, cash only. The barbershop offers a good haircut and good conversation with a healthy dose of humor. A touch of the past, it is a same family business, formerly known as "Barber Shop." Tip well.
My family and I have lived in Matthews for years and just found Pappy’s. My oldest son and I both have cowlicks that other places have problems with but not Dave he does an excellent job. I plan to keep taking my boys as long as Dave and family keep letting us come. 🤓
my boys and hubby have been going to Dave for over 20+yrs, We highly recommend as Dave is very personable with all his clients and we dont go anywhere else🙂
Being a "frugal" customer (certain friends would call me "cheap"), I hated going to the chain haircut places and having to spend $25 for a haircut. I had been going over to a neighboring town where I grew up to a hairdresser who gave me inexpensive haircuts, but it's a 45-minute (one-way!) drive. I had seen Pappy's Cuts sign when driving around Matthews before and decided to give him a try a couple of weeks back Very personable, nice owner...and he's exactly my age! He gave me a great haircut, the same price that my other barber charges...and I don't have to drive an hour and a half! Guys, if you want an inexpensive haircut, Pappy's Cuts is the place to go!
