Except for a bit of waiting once in a room and thinking I would be seeing a doctor instead of a PA, my experience was okay.
If you are paying to see a professional you should be able to see one. A PA is knowledgeable for sure, but doesn't have the training, experience and skills a doctor has. So there should be a different level of payment based on skill set. All in all, the PA I saw was able to help me and I did get relief from my situation. I would definitely return to this facility for future concerns.
Got in promptly to be seen. Diagnosed my eye with a stye under the eyelid and finally prescribed antibiotic drops that cleared it up in just a few days. Pain was gone in two days. Unfortunately the last Dr. who saw me there never looked under my lid, told me to take OTC drops (it’s just viral, not bacteria) that did nothing and I never got well. I thank Dr Watson for taking the proper time to diagnose me correctly this time and I am now fully recovered.
This was my second visit to UNC Urgent Care at Knightdale. As with my first visit several years ago, the front desk staff were friendly and also prompt in getting me checked in. The nurse came promptly to the exam room to take my information.and vitals. I was seen by a PA who was very knowledgeable about my condition and gave me excellent suggestions.
