Been a patient long b4 Dr Ergas came on board. Never got glasses there till after my cataract surgery. Told Dr Ergas I felt the glasses weren't measured correctly for the bifocal line. He brushes it off telling me he can adjust by adjusting ear pieces and or nose pieces. Been wearing glasses since I was 2 know what either of those would cause. My eyes started bothering me more. So I reached out to another ophthalmologist and was told that whom ever measured me for my glasses did it incorrectly. As a matter of fact, when they tried to measure where the bifocal line was it DIDN'T even show up because it was too far down on the lense. That is inexcusable and unfortunately he's lost my business. Shameful I trusted him for so many years and yet he couldn't accept the facts of what I said were valid. Trust goes both ways and he's lost mine.
I haven't been to an eye doctor in years, basically because I just don't like going to the doctors. But the experience this time was really good. From the time I made my appointment through the whole visit the customer service was great and I had the best eye exam. The doctor was very thorough and explained all to my understanding. I really recommend this group.
Totally satisfied with the procedure and service received by Alan Szczesniewski D.O. Time to choose eye glasses the tech asked if I liked to read and recommended the progressive lens. The total cost of the glasses $577.00. A lot but it was what the tech assured was the best lens. The glasses were to be ready within the week. After 4 days I was advised the glasses were in but the measurements were wrong and had to be sent back. The next week I was advised the glasses were in but the frame was broken. The third week the glasses were in but I could not see with the progressive lens. The tech then advised that not everyone likes them but they would be happy to make a new pair and put in the bifocal lens. We were notified the glasses were in, we discussed with the tech the difference in cost between the bifocal lens and progressive lens and advised the ones with the bifocal lens were almost $300.00 cheaper but their policy states no refunds. Being a senior citizen I relied on the trained professional and their recommendation that the progressive lens were the best option and if they didn't work they would make the new pair. The end result is I paid $300. more than if I just went with the bifocals and not their recommendation. At the end the office manager stated she would refund $100. Unsatisfactory.
