About Carolina Waterfowl Rescue
Carolina Waterfowl Rescue is a dedicated organization that relies on volunteers to rescue waterfowl and other animals in need. The team of knowledgeable and dedicated volunteers and staff provides guidance and assistance in rescuing animals, including injured owls and lost chickens. They take on cases that other rescue groups cannot handle, such as injured Canada geese. The rescue also cares for animals affected by natural disasters like hurricanes and responds quickly to calls. For example, they arrived within 12 hours to help a Canadian goose with a bad wing, which is now on the way to recovery. They also assisted a juvenile Purple Martin struggling to get off a busy road, sharing updates on the birds’ progress through a link. Recently, they took in a bluebird with a broken wing and provided status updates. The rescue provides care and rehabilitation with the goal of releasing animals back into the wild. Since they do not receive government funding, donations are essential for their work, and contributions help them continue their important efforts. Visitors and supporters have noted the friendly and professional staff, as well as the organization's dedication to helping vulnerable creatures. Many have expressed joy in being able to support the rescue, whether through donations or by bringing in supplies, like fish, to assist with their great work.
I found a baby bird hanging from its nest above my front door and Mama was flying around in distress, so I climbed up and got it lose. It kept jumping out of the nest and injuring itself even more since the wing was injured.
I called WATERFOWL, I was given a number to text and they responded quickly. I was able to drop it off after keeping it overnight so it could calm down. They were awesome! You fill out a sheet for their intake and leave detailed information so they know what kind of trauma the animal indured. A quick trip and back home.
Thank you WATERFOWL for being so dilligent!
A bird had a broken leg, and I reached out by call and text. The communication was great, and they guided me through everything. I was able to bring the bird to them, and I’m really grateful for how responsive and helpful they were
During the snowfall, a bird was attacked by a hawk. I sent a message to the rescue. There were 2 people that stayed in touch with me. We were able to get the bird to the rescue the next day. Easy to find. They stayed in contact with me until I got it there. We actually just got back home, so don't know the follow ups yet. I was just so appreciative of them taking charge immediately.
