African Pride: African Hair Braiding

When I called, I was asked to send a picture of the style I wanted and so I did via text. I made sure to add, it doesn't have to be exactly like the picture as long as it's nice-- "the picture is mainly to give you an "idea" of what I want," I told her. The stylist texted me back a price, basically confirming she could do my hair. Upon my arrival, the stylists were both very polite and welcoming. However, I spent over an hour just getting my hair parted, that was the first red flag. Nevertheless, she proceeded to braid my hair, and although it wasn't exactly how I'd requested, what she'd braided up to that point was really pretty and I was highly satisfied, and told her to continue. The reason for the 2 rating is because after sitting there from 1:30 pm until 5 pm, I ended up leaving with no braids at all! Why? Because the stylist decided she couldn't do the style afterall and took all the braids out she'd already done! She did however let me know she could do another style for a different price but it would take an additional 2 hours! In my opinion that was unprofessional, because for starters, if you're not comfortable doing a style, let your customer know that upfront, rather than having them sit for hours while you "TRY" and do it then end up doubting your own work so much you take all the braids out ( and that was even after I told her I liked them and to keep going!) I was so disappointed... I couldn't understand why she would take them out after all the time it took to put them in. I was highly upset. And all they could tell me was, "things happen sometimes and the pictures can't always be done...." Okay.... I knew that and it should've been my choice as a customer if I wanted them taken out, especially after I patiently sat for 4 1/2 hours! If she had finished, I have no doubt whatsoever, I would've loved her work because it was clear from what I saw, both sisters are very talented and gifted in their craft.
