About Gene's Barber Shop

They specialize in cutting men's hair and are known for their high fade haircuts. The shop is cash-only and is located on Spring Garden Street, about half a mile before UNCG. It is recommended to call ahead for an appointment.

I was traveling through on business and stopped in. I don't know who the older fella is in there, possibly the owner. Said he has been there 60+ years. He's a Gem & I really enjoyed his time. I would love to sit down and hear some of his stories & wisdom from his years. Great place. They don't make them like this anymore.

Best barber in the city. This shop kept me looking sharp throughout my service in the Army National Guard. I've had my hair cut by all the barbers present. I can't recommend them all enough. The price and option to walk in is what has kept me coming back. Every barber gets to know you by name and treats you like a longtime friend. That big beautiful American flag on the wall inspires me everytime I visit.

Ben cut my hair, he did an excellent job and wasted no time. It is a communal environment, and only $15 + tip for a high fade.
