I booked a silk press and while the end result was nice, the overall experience was not. 1) my appointment was at 9am didn’t get seen until 935 or so. 2) the shampoo process was fast & the way my head was handled wasnt gentle 3)my hair was blow dried for an extended period of time which I hope and pray my hair isn’t damaged because of it. 4) I am not a hair stylist, but I’m almost positive you should detangle someone’s hair while it is still wet and not while dry. I had braids prior to getting this service and it is hard to believe that the braids were the reason for the kinks as she mentioned. I typically always get my hair done after having braids and have never had such a rough experience after the fact. If the hair was detangled properly there would have hardly been issues when blow drying. 5) I did tip and thanked her for servicing me, but I will not be returning. I would rather have someone who values my time and cares enough to take their time with the crown that God blessed me with. Hair salon experiences should not be rushed.

Bamboozled! Booked flexi rod on natural hair through styleseat with stylist tangie. Well when I arrived it was a friendly atmosphere and she greeted me. She then said I’m cancelling your appointment because styleseat charges fees and I should just pay her directly. Well by doing so I loss the 15% discount provided by styleseat which is no biggie but it’s the principle. So anyway appointment canceled. Moving along I waited about 30min after a scheduled 4p appointment for her to get started. Then she rushed my shampooing (scalp/hair wasn’t clean) then she said I’m going to blow dry your hair to reduce the hooded drying time. I was a little confused but trusted her explanation and so she continued to blow dry the hair before rodding. Then added foaming lotion to the blow dried hair and started to rod about half way through rodding realized she didn’t have enough rods to finish so I waited for her to go to the store to buy more, waiting another 20min or longer. When she returned she is rushing but finished rodding and placed me under the hooded dryer. Curls were limp and flat and hairstyle was not delivered. But at this point it’s after 7pm so she just apologizes and added a few rods back in before I left because some of the pieces were straight like no curl whatsoever and offers to discount the total. Well it would’ve been $90 but only charged $75 (well that’s about what I would’ve paid anyway had she allowed my discount from styleseat). So I leave with dirty hair, flexi rods still in my head and paying what I would’ve paid. I was disappointed that I had to go home and rewash my own hair only to find my natural curls heat damaged. I feel like she should’ve been paying me. ? . I wasn’t even going to leave a review because it’s like I can’t reverse the experience nor get my money back but after seeing my curls this way maybe I can save others from the disappointment. Sad.
UPDATE-Tangie reached back out and apologized again. She stated she used a Mizani silkening and smoothing shampoo on my hair which could’ve contributed to the curl disruption I’m experiencing. (I’m not sure why this was used for a wet set) She guaranteed my hair should revert back and offered a complementary hair service. I did not go back. However, I have washed my hair 3xs following and curls have not come back.

I booked with stylist Tangie from Styleseat. I was in transition and needed to discover a new style that would help me embrace my gray. I went from long to shorter hair and was really struggling with decisions. I was indecisive, confused and unsure about almost everything. I asked several questions (probably too many) and was an “all over the place” client. Tangie was patient, kind, sympathetic, and understanding. She listened, gave professional advice, and encouraged me in directions I wasn’t aware of. She explained what I didn’t understand and walked with me down a questionable road for my thinning hair. When I left her salon today, I got four compliments on my hair before I got home. I was walking and grinning because I felt and looked good. Her talent, professional, and kindness were greatly appreciated.

YES!!!! I'm glad I was led by the spirit to this Salon. The customer service is magnificent.. Tangie was very concerned about the maintenance of my hair, she made me feel comfortable while she told me about the progress I'm going to have.
