Did not make note of poor condition of chimney cap when doing our home inspection. Incurred water damage from leaks shortly after moving in. Licensed chimney inspector stated the corrosion and poor condition of the chimney were definitely preexisting to the date of inspection (see photo). Contacted and no responsibility was taken for the omission. Hid behind legal disclosures in the contract rather than owning up to a missed item in the inspection. Do not recommend.
