This law firm is horrible!!! Especially in regard to child custody cases! The law firm was more concerned with how much money they could take from me and less concerned with representing us correctly. I was issued a 3 different attorney’s without advising us the attorney was changing. Not one of the attorneys where up to date on our case, I had to have meetings with all 3 attorneys to go over everything each time the attorney was charged and everyone of them do not submit the evidence that we asked the to. Our last attorney was to represent us in mediation and left us there halfway through mediation. This firm took $40,000 dollars in ten months and the end result was I was shuffled around through three different lawyers who did not bring themselves up to speed with our case who did not submit evidence given to them and now we have a unfit father with 50-50 custody because they did not do their due diligence and they did not advocate for their client. I would never recommend this place. I would recommend you steer clear do your research and move past this worthless law firm because they only want your money and they don’t care if you have a positive outcome they don’t care what your outcome is you’re just there to line their pockets.

I contacted this firm in March 2026 for an immigration issue.. I expressed the importance of this and that it was very time sensitive … I paid my fee’s the same day.. was contacted later by the attorneys paralegal.. she didn’t even know what the case was about… I’ve called many times asking to have an in person meeting with the attorney… since that wasn’t possible I ask to speak to the owner… I went with this firm solely based on the owner’s profile… I was told that I couldn’t speak with her.. I’ve asked repeatedly for a in person meeting with someone… today I received an email from the attorney that I spoke with briefly , the only in person meeting I had.. he told me via email that he was requesting the management team to drop my case.. for me not to contact him or his team again… they had no problem taking my money.. yet, had a problem with me wanting an in person meeting….now I’m back to square one.. I have never done a review of any business… on the other hand , I have never been treated or dismissed like this by a business… I don’t feel that it’s unreasonable to ask to speak with the owner, she was the sole reason I chose this firm… I’m not trying to be difficult, just needed answers… They had no problem taking my money, but I’m not able to sit across the table from the attorney just to go over my case and make sure everything is communicated correctly to ensure the best results.. They have done absolutely nothing on my case.. I have called and text “my legal team” so much asking for answers..I get nothing back in response, Now they are dropping my case… I guess wanting what they promised and expecting them to do as they promised, is asking too much..I’ve read these reviews, looks like it’s a pattern that the firm practices by…I will not stop at a review, I will hire a “legitimate “ attorney just to get a full refund from them… and to expose this firm for what they truly are.. I will find another attorney to handle what they were paid to do and expect a full refund of what I paid…

Superb experience. I spoke with multiple firms in the Charlotte area prior to selection and no one comes close to the level of care, professionalism, and performance that Sussman exhibits. From our initial consultation with Jennifer to all the way to closing out the case, I'm very thankful to have ultimately went with Sussman Law Firm. Update: I ended up using Sussman for my divorce (not just the initial consultation), and I'm very disappointed with the experience. It has been a long and drawn-out, very expensive experience. The front desk people are friendly, helpful, and professional but everything else has been very poor quality. We don't get updates, we were supposed to be divorced by the end of last year and I didn't hear from them for almost four months. One specific part is the QDRO. We were charged thousands for was the QDRO- they made it sound like it was a very difficult thing to do and I believed them. After not hearing from them for a few months, I googled it and the company has clear guidelines on what needs to be sent in and everything, it took ten seconds to find, and they will even send a draft QDRO and all that. My attorney didn't use that and sent insufficient information and had a very hard time with it, requesting information from us that we had already given and spending a lot of time on the phone with them.
They have not communicated well, except for sending out emails to collect payments, they are definitely on top of getting their money. Their invoicing system is confusing and apparently doesn't show everything that is due because you have to pay to two different accounts.
We had three objectives when we came in and none of them have been completed yet. I wish I would have just used legal zoom because it would have been much quicker, much cheaper, and much less frustrating. I regret working with Sussman Law Firm and wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
First review: I had a great experience with Aimee. She was both professional and caring, to the point, and it was obvious she had a great deal of experience. And Wenipher at the front desk was friendly, professional, and very helpful as well! I highly recommend this firm!
