Brought my new kitten here for his first visit. We were there for an hour, and the vet told me they only saw 4 fleas on him. However, as soon as we got home, we pulled over 15+ fleas off him. I understand medication pulls fleas to the surface, but missing that many during a full one-hour appointment?
We also got a charge for the NexGard which I understand is upcharged for business reasons, but to not issue a prescription with it just because it lasts 30 days is greedy.
On top of all of this, since we started coming here we’ve had a $90 minimum evaluation fee for every single follow-up booster visit (even just 2 weeks later), rather than offering standard, lower-cost tech/nurse visits for routine kitten shots just due to the fact they’re kittens.
If you are on a budget for your pet’s vaccine series, look elsewhere. I am transferring my kitten's care to a clinic with more transparent and fair pricing.

THIS PLACE WENT DOWNHILL HARD IN EARLY 2025.
I had been going here since 2009, with 5 cats and one dog. They used to be good, but most of the familiar staff including ALL of the vets left after a change in ownership. They are now run by some big corporation. Prices went up too. They had been trying to hire replacement vets for months up until the time ours left but to no avail. I'm not sure how they're still in business.

My dog had a vicious case of “intestinal distress”. I was seen promptly, and we were well-taken care of by all staff members. (Shout-out to Chris, who went above-and-wrong to soothe and calm my pup!) The vet spend a LOT of time with us, and provided information that was beyond-helpful! My dog is 10 (so this wasn’t my first “intestinal road-show”), but I walked out of there a lot smarter than when I walked in, and the dog received a variety of helpful medications and supplements. I am SO grateful!

Unfortunately, Sharon Lakes Vet is no longer at the level it used to be. Most of the doctors have left, and previously we were working with Dr. Skinner. I recently called to schedule a very simple procedure for my dogs, an anal gland expression, and was told they could not help unless we were considered “established” patients. This was disappointing, as in the past it was never a problem to bring the dogs in for basic care like this. The clinic feels much less flexible and accommodating than it used to be.

Update 12/22/25 - This practice has changed significantly. We no longer take our digs there. We have changed to City Vet Marvin where Dr. Sandra Welsh and Dr. Kelly Moore have opened their new practice. There are still some great Vet Techs at Sharon Lakes, but I no longer know the Veterinarians. The overall mood is unfriendly and unwelcoming. I was trying to get my digs RX filled and they refused to fill it unless I brought her in to see one of the new vets there. It had been 3 months or so since our semi Annual visit so I didn't want to do that. Come to find out, it was illegal for them to do that and they tried doinf that to many of their patients. So... I haven't been back and have nothing nice to say about them anymore. It's such a shame too. I love Sharon Lakes Animal Hospital! They were lifesavers to me. My dog got so sick and had fatally low levels and Dr. Moore saw him and treated him and I can't say enough about how wonderful she is! My dog is a little old man and she is so patient with him and kind to him and to me both. I won't go anywhere else now. The staff there are all so sweet. If you are looking for a very caring vet who cares about bith the dogs and the owners, this is your place!

I recently took my senior dog in for a check up , and from the moment I walked in from the front staff, to the vet , and vet assistant I was greeted with respect and dignity, my pet was treated with care and all my concerns and questions were answered ! I got a full exam , with a 3yr rabies ! I was in and out 😊 i definitely recommend this vet !
