Ive been taking my pug, Funfetti to Queen City since I adopted her. Dr. Schuljak is amazing and listens to all concerns I have. And Stacey is her favorite vet tech who can handle my very happy wiggly girl! Highly recommend them for all my furbabies and reptiles 💕

Honestly this place is always so busy they don’t really have the time to accept the patients they see. I had really bad experience with my diabetic cat. I had to take him somewhere else. And if Queen City reads this no hard feelings but I only bring my lizard to you guys because there aren’t many other options. Also, it’s way expensive here.

I am so grateful to have found Dr. Cline and Queen City. Their Fear Free approach makes a world of difference for my senior dog, who has complex health needs. The team has generously accommodated the tiny king to keep him stable and reduce his anxiety. I only wish I’d found them sooner. A special thank you to Brooke and Bri for their exceptional kindness and support during our recent visits. 🐾

I am finally getting around to this review. I am deeply disappointed after years of my dog being a patient here. With each yearly wellness exam, I bring a note in my phone of questions to ask. One of the questions has always been, “Is it time for a dental cleaning?” I have always been told no, that his teeth are fine. At his most recent wellness exam here- June 2025- I was told, again, he does not need a dental cleaning. 6 months later- December 2025- I reached into my dog’s mouth to grab a piece of lint and discovered that his front teeth were loose and moving. Come to find out, he needed extensive surgery to have 13 teeth removed due to periodontal disease. My dog has now lost his entire upper front row of teeth, along with others.

I ask constantly, how did we go from “Nope. He doesn’t need a dental cleaning yet” to 6 months later him needing surgery to remove 13 diseased teeth. I made an appointment to discuss this with his vet, Dr. Black. I felt gaslit… my concern was never addressed. She just kept repeating that small dogs get dental disease a lot. Yes, small dogs do. That does not explain why I was told “no” each time I asked if it was time for him to get a teeth cleaning. I told her I was disappointed in the lack of preventative care. She continued to sit there with zero accountability, empathy, or compassion.

I would encourage owners to seek veterinarians who are more caring, thorough and truly value preventative care. As a RN, preventative care is one of the most important things we can do for our patients. I have never missed a wellness exam and I asked about the health of his teeth in every single exam he had. It was traumatic and heartbreaking to watch my dog go through such an extensive surgery. Instead, I trusted QCAH to properly assess my dog and trusted their judgment on him not needing cleanings, and I regret that I did.

I’ve been a client with Queen City since I moved down here 2.5 years ago. They’ve been nothing but kind. Took the time to write this because our dogs found a momma possum last night in our yard and it dropped five tiny babies trying to get away. Unfortunately I had to go into work before the wildlife centers opened and my only thought was to take them to Queen City animal hospital. They took those baby opossum in so fast and without question - said they would take it from there and get them to a wildlife shelter. They sent me on my way after getting the details of how I ended up with 5 baby opossum. Just wanted to say thank you to the wonderful staff who took them in this morning!!

Absolutely the best experience!! Every staff member was friendly and the whole exam was explained in detail throughout, which I greatly appreciated. 10/10!

The team at Queen City Animal Hospital is phenomenal. We initially brought in my cat, Captain, to see them because he was rapidly losing weight. Our previous vet was 45 minutes away, so we decided to try out QCAH. I had always thought that my cat hated going to the vet, but it turns out he just needed the right one. This office has separate waiting rooms for cats that they are able to explore and get comfortable with their surroundings in peace while waiting for the appointment. I’ve never seen our cat comfortable at the vet until going to QCAH. Additionally, the staff are all very clearly well trained at making the animal’s comfort their top priority.
We found out that our cat had hyper-thyroidism and we were given a treatment plan promptly. After treatment, Captain has put back on all of his weight, and QCAH has been working with us to ensure his treatment went well with follow-up appointments. My favorite thing about QCAH is that they do most, if not all, of the exam in front of the owners (given that there aren’t any unusual circumstances). This allows me to comfort my cat while he’s getting his blood drawn which I can tell makes him much more comfortable. Dr. Black has done a phenomenal job at taking care of our baby and we are so thankful that her care has resulted in Captain feeling normal and healthy again.😊

I do not recommend using this veterinary clinic.

We initially purchased the puppy package, which essentially locked us into continuing care here until all services were used. Unfortunately, our experience was consistently frustrating.

At most visits, we waited 20+ minutes past our scheduled appointment time before even being taken from the waiting room. This caused unnecessary stress and anxiety for our dog.

The biggest issue, however, was their inability to handle urgent situations. We have a very small chiweenie who can dehydrate quickly when sick, so timely care is critical. On three separate occasions when he needed emergency attention, QCAH was unable to see him at all the day of. That is simply unacceptable—there should be some flexibility in scheduling for urgent cases.

Charlotte Veterinary Hospital—a clinic we had never visited before—was able to see him immediately each time. They were responsive and accommodating when it mattered most.

Another major concern was how our account was handled. After Charlotte Veterinary Hospital requested Sully’s records (due to QCAH being unable to see him), QCAH closed our account and canceled his scheduled neuter appointment without informing us. I never requested either action. Despite receiving confirmation texts, I was not notified of the cancellation. I only discovered this because I called the day before.

Thankfully, they were still able to proceed with the neuter, and the surgery itself went well. However, communication remained an issue. I was told at drop-off (7:30 AM) that I would be notified when he was placed under anesthesia, but I never received that call. Instead, I only heard from them after the surgery was already complete.

While the staff did take good care of my dog during his procedure and recovery, the repeated lack of communication, long wait times, and inability to accommodate urgent visits make it difficult to trust this clinic with ongoing care

We’ve been going here for 5 years and they have been consistently great. The staff really cares about your pet - whether it’s a phone call or annual appt or emergency appt they’re very helpful. We’ve moved a little further away than when we started going here but still make the drive for QCAH.
