We have trusted Mallard Creek Animal Hospital with the care of our animals for 10+ years. Even with the occasional change of staff, the care remains the same, which always feels above and beyond. Doctors, management, technicians, assistants and receptionists always put your pet first, and display a complete dedication to the overall wellbeing of our furry loved ones. Patience is a virtue that all staff possess, even when you have endless (oftentimes silly) questions. In this way, staff contribute to our wellbeing as well, putting our minds at ease during difficult times. No animal hospital is perfect, but some are just a tad closer to it than others, this establishment being one of them.

I am very disappointed in this facility. Except for technician: Harold who is wonderful and gets 5 stars. Elyse Roseman gets 1 star. This facility is a prime example of "smoke and mirrors." Below are the reasons that I sent the staff at Mallard Creek. I cannot even find that Rebecca Johnson is licensed in North Carolina with the NCDVM. 1. Your practice is negligent: A sedation prescription for Tramadol was only provided for XXXX, even though both of my dogs required it. 2. On three (3) occasions, your inept technicians (except Harold, he has never, had an issue handling my dog's nail clipping procedure and could always accomplish the job beautifully. He is a GEM and knows what he is doing.) 3. XXXXX received an incomplete medical exam due to Dr. Waller and staff's inability to take blood and perform vaccinations, as well as biopsy a lump on my dog when I was in your office for their annual wellness/vaccination visit in 3/2023. 4. During "perfunctory" nail trims both dogs had nail bleeds, except for the times that Harold trimmed their nails. He alone impresses me the MOST. In my opinion, and anyone would agree that your reluctance and inability to handle 8 lb. and 14 lb. pure breed Italian Greyhounds, who do not bite (only struggle), is nothing short of malpractice. 5. After my visit on 2/20/23, during which I passionately voiced my discontent with your service, DVM Rebecca Johnson stepped in and added Gabapentin to the mix of Tramadol. My animals are NOT going to be "Guinea pigs." I also spent an inordinate amount of time (2 hours) in your office, listening to nothing short of deflections and "lip service" from your staff. Then to add insult to injury charges for tech time was added to my bill. For what? You should have been paying me for my time. And then to make my dogs nails bleed so badly that styptic needed to be applied. Charging me for your inabilities was absolutely the "straw that broke the camel's back." 6. Also, there is total inconsistency regarding who is on call. I never see the same person twice.

Dr. Johnson is one of the most compassionate vets we've known. We are grateful to her for her loving care of our senior dog. The other Saturday, I was very distressed when it didn't seem that our dog could stand up. I didn't have an appointment and I rushed her in and the staff all stood up on their feet, and a couple helped rushed with a stretcher over to the car to help our dog. Dr. Johnson made time for her. It was such a relief that they treated her as a priority like we do. Thank you thank you Mallard Creek Animal Hospital!

I am very fortunate to have found this veterinary practice when I moved to Charlotte. This entire practice has done a fantastic job of taking care of my dog. I can only highly recommend her to everybody that would ever ask.

I have been to this animal hospital about 5 times in a span of four months. My cat was adopted from the shelter and had a bunch of different issues. While some of them were taken care of, we bumped into a situation. We had supposedly found ring worm on our cat. The vet couldn't do anything! The first time we went in, he already had red spots on his ear which was fully ignored at the time of the physical check. It worsened over some time and I googled "ringworm" and started self treatment, it didn't work as well as I expected, so I called and explained the situation. They said to bring him in which I paid another fee for, they looked at him and said "I'm not sure what it is, looks like you're right and it's a ring worm but I can't tell. Whatever you're doing, continue doing and it'll go away in two weeks". Which it didn't and only worsened, I called again and was totally mistreated on the phone, they didn't want to meet me half way at all, tried to push another exam fee which I already paid like 5 times before!!! And at the end I got a message that says "sorry, we can't do anything more for you, here is your record go find someone else." After a wrong diagnosis on the first exam, medication that made my cat sick and throw up, being mistreated and milked for money, I can tell you for sure that I would never go back and would not suggest anyone to go either!!!

Have had pups in here twice for routine checkups and once for a more serious issue- in all cases, the staff has been professional, friendly, and I can tell that they genuinely enjoy seeing their patients. My dog is somewhat fearful and they handled her very gently and with the utmost care. I really enjoy the service I get here and will keep coming back.
