Had a c section on the 31st & just wanna shout out all the nurses I had, they were all amazing, especially nurse Nikki. She even helped me figure out how to get my baby to latch better. The room was small but I’d rather feel taken care of & that I did. Also the anesthesiologist & everyone in the OR made me feel super comfortable (I had really bad anxiety at first) & felt no pain whatsoever

I gave birth here to my first baby in November 2024. And I’m incredibly grateful for the nurses over there. It was an induction, and I was so afraid of the “cascade of interventions” making me end up having a c section, but they took their time inducing me, did everything step by step and very carefully, not rushing the process at all. Everyone was nice and helpful. But I had a few nurses that were literal angels! Firstly, Vanity, who took the best care of me while in labor, she went above and beyond, frequently came to check on me, and turned me with the peanut ball every 30-50 minutes, while letting me sleep in between. This might have been crucial in making my labor progress. I didn’t have to call her once. I’m so thankful for her! I ended up having my daughter on her son’s birthday :)

Next, during the actual birth there was a nurse named Dana just like me, and she asked for our phones and took our pictures and videos during the birth! If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have the pictures of the best moment of my life. That was so very thoughtful and kind of her!

And then after the birth they love you to another room, and there was April, who helped me with a few tmi moments, and was very kind and caring! I’m so thankful for their help and care during one of the most vulnerable moments, I was so lost and unsure of what was happening, what I was supposed to do or not to do, so excited and worried. And everything went smoothly thanks to their help.

Now, of course there were a few unpleasant moments. One nurse who wasn’t assigned to me, she came inbetween the shifts, when I called for help, when my bubble fell out, she removed it harshly leaving me a huge very painful hematoma on my thigh that took a couple of weeks to heal. And different people kept coming to the room every half an hour, not letting us sleep, but that seems to be all over the country. The food was good enough by the US standards, but very questionable for a hospital food in any other country. But I am thankful that they feed your partner too. It would be a nuisance to go and get food during that stressful time.

Overall, I’m very happy and thankful for my experience giving birth there. Would go there again any day, even after reading horror stories in other reviews, because my anxious brain felt calm knowing that the NICU with the best doctors and the best equipment was right there if my baby ever needed it. Did you know that not every birthing hospital has NICU? And even if they do, they send the worst cases by helicopter to this hospital from both Carolinas?

So, a huge thank you and many blessings to Vanity, Dana, April, the doctor who took her time and stitched me up very neatly, to the nice ladies downstairs who were very helpful when I initially came with lots of questions, and to the midwife who was very helpful in guiding me through the process during the night shift with no doctors.

This has to be the worst by far of any hospital. The staff was super nice and helpful when they knew the state examiners were on their way up the elevator. The second the group left the floor it was business as usual. You all ruined our experience with our 1st grandchild and that cannot ever be forgiven. Only in it for money, very sorry staff.

My experience in labor and delivery was fine. After I delivered my baby I was taken to a different unit. When we arrived, the room was hot af. I had to bring this to the nurse’s attention… she did not seem to notice. The AC unit was broken. Instead of taking us to a different room, they had an AC repair MAN come to my room…after I had just given birth..,and was trying to breast feed. After the AC was fixed my husband, baby and I were constantly woken up hospital staff. Mind you, we were not being woken for medical necessities, but rather things like billings, or to talk about the atrium app. The nurse laughed at me when I started to doze off while she was talking to us. I finally snapped and told her that we hadn’t gotten any rest since we pulled an all nighter to deliver our sweet baby because she kept coming in our room and letting every hospital staff or cleaning person in on the hour every hour. I wish I remembered the nurse’s name because she did not let us rest. You will not rest here, they do not care. I gave birth in February 2024 and I’m still pissed about experience. I lost a lot of blood and probably should have stayed another night, but we just wanted to get out of there.

I don’t do reviews but personally they are very unprofessional. Today is July 4th, I was scheduled for an induction July 2nd. They called the day of and said they didn’t have any beds available and they’d call when there was a bed available. Well don’t you know I’ve been the one calling. They don’t give any updates or anything. All they said was that they would give a call and it should be within the next 5 days. I have a life and all of my support system does as well. They just get your hopes up and they do not care about how they emotionally effect you. I’ve been depressed and in bed not eating. Novant is better. Next baby I’ll be going to Presbyterian.

My son has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and was hospitalized, in the ICU. We knew this might be it for him. The staff, nurses and doctors, were amazing!! They treated my son with respect and kept his wishes. He passed away with dignity and respect. Afterwards, they helped us clean his body. It was a very difficult time, but their entire staff went above and beyond, to help Nathan's family get to say goodbye. Drs. Smith, Ling, and Watts were very honest and professional. Thank you to all of the staff at this hospital.
