So far, we're very impressed with UNC Orthopedic. Latoya at the front desk, is both compassionate and competent, a rare mix in today's health care environment. She took on a task that wasn't hers and when she couldn't reach who she needed, she went looking for them. She's a treasure! The clinic manager was also very kind and helpful and Dr Kamath is both personable and thorough. He has a reputation for being a highly skilled surgeon. By the time we saw him, 3 days after an ER visit, he'd already tracked down the manufacturer of the artificial joint that broke, reached out to the rep, and presented a thorough plan that included multiple contingencies. Very nice, modern facility with great staff. Walked in yesterday morning and was seen immediately. The tech and Dr. Bush were phenomenal and took my concerns seriously, giving me an answer about pain I’ve dealt with for years but had recently become unbearable. I had X-rays taken, a diagnosis confirmed, treatment plan laid out, and consultation scheduled all within the hour. I would highly recommend this clinic!
Dereck is great. I come here for post op PT from a rotator cuff repair surgery and Derek is very knowledgeable and caring. I will recommend him for post op PT to friends who unfortunately need surgery.
