I was very pleased and satisfied with Carolina Handyman Services LL. I called and they came right away. I needed some furniture assembly, window blinds put up and some other things done. I made two mistakes. 1. Ignoring the negative review 2. Paying before job finished. Hired company for several small jobs. What a disaster. Drilled 4 holes in my wall trying to find a stud to hang a tv. Took two days to install a storm door and it's still not right. Asked to replace a couple of bathroom sink faucets. Didn't leak before but afterwards, it's leaking. Ruther was going to get a part to fix. On the way out the door, he asked if I could go ahead and pay him. Sure. Why not? When he came back, he sent his partner in, never got out of truck. Blew his horn for his partner to hurry up. Guess what? Sink still dripping and Ruther doesn't answer texts. Lesson learned. Do not hire this company. Pay attention to negative reviews.They are real.

Hired Ruther to do 2100 square foot flooring. $8500, half up front half upon completion. I live out of state and hired blindly although I did know that a Google search revealed a theft charge and I addressed it he said it was a mistake and I took his word. I went to the house on a Friday. Demo was 99% done. His workers had put something up against my newly painted walls which would require repair. His workers took off the molding with pry-bars which left holes in the wall board some of them rather large. Ruther called me the following Thursday and told me that they were in the kitchen at that point which I know would be that the job is almost complete. I went down on a Sunday to check out the work because I'm not going to give the other half of the money without seeing the job. Upon arrival I can see that the floors had barely been laid down maybe 600 ft.² of a 2100 square-foot house. The wood that was put down, I could visibly see nails sticking out of the wood. I could see splinters visibly, and I could see hammer indentations All of which should not be on a hardwood floor. I confronted Ruther via text message the following day when he was scheduled to be working and he became defensive. He came to my house. I did show him the damage and he admitted that flooring had to be removed to be replaced and said he would make it right. I told him the time for that is over. He was dishonest with me and likely owes me about $5000. Furthermore, besides getting half of the money from me upfront, he asked for an additional $1000 dollars and an additional $1500 were given to him for square footage that he said he didn't know about so he had $6750 upfront. Now all of that wood that was put down approximately 600 ft.² has to be pulled up costing me over $3000 in material that he trashed and then put down by someone else I need to hire. Ruther can keep the money paid for the demolition and hauling off that old wood, but needs to be returned the rest of it. He has made no effort to return the money. I asked him that he needed to return $5000. I will likely have to go to court. Do not use this man.
