very nice place, driving range was nice and chipping and putting green was nice too. Saw a alligator in one of the hazards, pretty cool. also saw f15s that was pretty cool too.
I played 2 rounds on vacation here in Aug 2026 and the course was in fantastic shape. It's a fun layout, not much trouble off the tee but the greens are relatively small and sloped so you need to be on the right level to score. If it's your first time, pay attention to the water off the tee, there are a number of little ponds you can't see from the tee that you can easily pull a drive into. Don't listen to the old reviews about grouchy staff, everyone in the clubhouse was very friendly and the ranger staff was really nice. Will absolutely play again when I return to Oak Island
Despite no rain in the area for quite some time, the course was in good condition. Practice areas are pretty good as well. Check in was pleasant and rangers Howie and Bob were fantastic. First time playing this challenging course.
