About Scissorhands (캐리 - 가위손)
Scissorhands (캐리 - 가위손) offers a variety of experiences for customers. Many appreciate the attentive owner and talented stylists, like JINA, who carefully follow requests and deliver great results. Some customers mention that a stylist works quickly and efficiently, providing excellent haircuts despite a serious demeanor. Recently, a customer shared that their initial visits were very satisfying, with skilled stylists and great cuts. However, they were disappointed when they called to confirm their next appointment and found out that their stylist no longer worked there, with no offer to rebook or retain their loyalty. The salon is also known for its long-lasting colors and skilled work, with some clients expressing their trust in the stylists' expertise and professionalism.
I requested a haircut and gave a reference image but the haircut I was given did not look at all like what I requested. The person who cut my hair did not seem to understand English super well so there was not a lot of collaboration and in the end it was pretty expensive. He seemed like a good hairstylist and I’ve heard really good things about this place but I was definitely disappointed with my cut. I also requested him to not texturize my hair too much because my natural hair is coarse and heavy and I have had multiple bad experiences getting haircuts at other salons where they texture it, making the top heavier than the bottom and it’s safe to say that...read full review
Friendly service. The lady stylist is very precise when she cuts. My friend was so happy with her cut that she went back again today. This time she did a color and cut. Reasonable prices and very patient stylist. It's cozy and not loud or too busy. I could have fallen asleep waiting it was so mellow inside.
Tried 2 other Korean barber shops in the Triangle (Hair News and Miss Kim's), and Scissorhands (Andy) clearly provides the best service but compared to the other 2, it's also the most expensive, which is enough reason for me to alternate between the 3 aforementioned Korean barber shops. Scissorhands is my family's favorite with my two younger brothers regularly getting haircuts here. Andy is not as friendly as Miss Kim in Morrisville, but we recently had a nice conversation about the Korean language since I just started studying it. The cut was masterful, for sure, and followed the example I showed in a photo saved in my phone. Shampoo was included at no additional cost and I did not have to wait in my latest visit around Friday noon. I used to pay around $30 to $35 for a regular men's cut but the latest service, Andy charged me $40 (not including tips). As for the atmosphere, it's more spacious than their old location (where they shared space with other salons) but it's not as spacious as Hair News. Nonetheless, it's in a good location by High House Road, close to Cici's Pizza, a small Walmart market, and just less than 5 minutes drive away from HMart.
