Eastern Carolina Medical Center is described as a very good place with nice people. Patients have been visiting for 38 or 39 years and feel they are treated well. The doctors and staff are very thorough in keeping patients healthy. Patients love that they can get their tests done on site and not run all over three counties. The nurses are friendly, treat patients with respect, and know their names. Dr. Vyas is very caring and, with the help of God, literally saved one patient’s life from over 300 pounds, diabetes, chf, high cholesterol, and chronic back pain. The office is fully equipped to perform any tests on site. The staff is friendly, and Dr. Reddy seems receptive. Appointment reminders are nice, and the patient portal is a great tool. The pharmacy team is amazing, incredibly helpful, and always prompt to call if there is an issue. However, the wait time is a major problem. Patients often sit in the waiting room for 30 minutes or more after their appointment time, then get stuck in a second waiting area for another 30 minutes, and a third for tests. This makes it hard to keep appointments and miss work for hours longer than expected. Despite this, finding a good doctor is tough, so some patients have not left yet.
