I hired Derek Pidino of Kodiak Builders in March 2025 to build a deck for me. The initial estimate was $7,000 and I hired him. A revised estimate came back nearly double but this was for a revised and enlarged deck and was the “premium” material that was needed to match my home. We agreed on the news price and a time frame to begin in May and deposit was paid over $11,000.00. The deck project did not start in May as agreed “family was sick” and Derek was unresponsive for most of May (would not answer cell phone calls, text messages, or voice mails) for weeks. Hired Kodiak to build a deck and do some cement work. We paid him half down to start the project. He showed up the first day and did minimal work. After that day he was hard to get a hold of and never showed up on the days he scheduled. This was 4 weeks ago. We have yet to hear from him after multiple attempts and he has not given us a refund for the money we paid him. Would NEVER recommend him!

he contacted me off of a Facebook post stated he would be very interested in giving a bid. On the day he was supposed to come and give me a bid very minimal communication stated he was on his way and never could show up. Would not text or call back just never showed up. If he could not show up to give a bid he would be hard-pressed to finish a project I am sure. Find someone else.
