I will not be returning to this veterinary clinic. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. The doctor, whose name I do not even know, was rude and made inappropriate comments, including suggesting that I buy a muzzle for my dog because he was barking. I was also charged fees that I do not agree with and that were never clearly explained. Overall, the service was unprofessional, and I do not feel comfortable coming back. I would not recommend this place.

we have a dachshund who blew a disc out in her back. they didn't hesitate to take her on as a patient even though we had never been here before and are not from here. they worked directly with my pet insurance and they made us feel confident and comfortable with taking care of her before we brought her home with us. the doctor even gave us a referral for the next place we are stopping to be able to get her some rehab services. can't recommend them enough to anyone in the area.

So we have a 12 year old jack/pug who tore her rear ACL. We called and spoke with Dr Scott Flamme and he was awesome. We made the 1000 mile round trip journey. All of the staff were outstanding! Over two days of pre op testing and xrays then surgery I would give them a 10 out of 10. We have been to many vets in many states and Dr Scott Flamme is one of the best. Not only for his knowledge and caring for our dog. Also the price was as it was expected and in our opinion no unneeded charges or services like a lot of vets we have visited. We were well informed about what would be done and well informed of the after care and how to provide it for our dog. Thank you Dr Scott Flamme and thank you to all of your staff. We made the trip for our dog. Now after meeting you and your staff if we need any care in the future we will be making the journey for our dog and for a outstanding vet and staff.

0 stars if I could. We brought our 11-year-old dog Sage in on a Saturday because she was favoring her leg and visibly distressed. We chose Animal Clinic of Billings specifically because they performed a complex femoral and pelvic repair on her back in 2016 — we trusted they’d have her history on file to help with diagnostics. The front desk was friendly, but the moment Dr. Scott Flamme entered, Sage hid. He did a brief exam, took X-rays, then returned to explain the results — entirely in medical jargon. No effort to communicate with us as the pet owners we are. It was dismissive and elitist, and I had to piece things together with whatever anatomy knowledge I had. Dr. Scott Flamme said he needed to sedate Sage for a better image of the hip joint and told us to return in 90 minutes. When we came back, he showed us what looked like the exact same X-rays from before sedation. I noticed but didn’t want to assume the worst. He presented two options — the simplest being amputation — and we scheduled surgery for the following week. At checkout, we were hit with a $604 bill. Breaking it down: $264 for X-rays, $136 for sedation, and $53 for a “hospital stay.” When I reviewed other reviews, I wasn’t alone — high costs are a pattern here. I asked my husband to call Monday for a quote on the amputation and to request both sets of X-rays so we could get second opinions. Their amputation quote? $4,000–$5,000. Four other reputable vets quoted us $1,275–$2,000. Then came the X-ray situation. My husband received one set Monday — timestamped from the initial visit, before sedation. When he called asking for the second set, Dr. Flamme got on the line and insisted what we had was the second set. My husband pressed him, and finally said “Fine — then I want the first set.” Dr. Flamme hung up on him. We paid $136 to sedate our dog for X-rays she apparently never received, were overcharged across the board, and when we simply asked for records we paid for — we were hung up on. I do not recommend this clinic.

I’ve taken my dog here for the past 2 years after using other local veterinary clinics. The staff is incredibly kind to the “patients”, knowledgeable and helpful. Costs are reasonable and I always get a follow up call to check on my pup. My dog actually gets excited when we go to the vet and pulls me to the door!
