Update 2.0: I’m very pleased to say I was contacted by Superior Optical Lab and told of what is best described as a perfect storm of issues that appears to have affected my service. Apparently there was a problem with a email I sent to the company and that being forwarded to the VA. I was also assured that they would be looking into the several voicemails I left with my local VA optical lab. It is also important to say the companies representative gave me his direct phone number in case of a future issue. I don’t think I’ll ever need it, since I do think my broken glasses was a once in a lifetime problem. But this was a wonderful gesture.
The prescription readers I received fit well, they are the same style I chose, and the prescription is good for close reading. Problem is the lab put someone else's order receipt in the box that was addressed to me. I have requested a replacement hard copy of the prescription from my local VA optician department. I will follow up as best I can to ensure that the glasses I received match the prescription. As stated, they appear to be correct. Superior Optical, please ensure you are matching shipped glasses with the correct paperwork.
