Thank you Yelpers for another fantastic gem. In Memphis visiting our daughter. Did the Graceland thing this morning and looked for something in Northern Mississippi for lunch and came across Melanie's. Just a simple little place kinda off the beaten track. For simple good food you can't beat places like this. Couldn't decide between the smothered pork chops or the hamburger steak (Friday special). Our sweet waitress recommended the hamburger steak and mashed potatoes. I added the coleslaw and cornbread. Yes, it was just two pieces of ground beef but cooked up in a skillet with some amazing Southern gravy. Something this California boy would hope for in a true southern...read full review

Omg the butter roll at this place is a piece of heaven!!! We found this little gem of a place passing through on our mmmm a road trip! My husband had loaded shrimp and grit and I had the smoothed pork chops!! So much food! The service was wonderful!! And did I mention the Butter Roll!! We got an extra one to take with us because it was so good! Definitely drop by this place

Amazingly awesome food! I definitely recommend! My husband had loaded shrimp and grits, I had smothered pork chops with okra, cabbage and corn bread. You definitely will not be disappointed! Portions are big and food is fresh and are delectable with every bite.
