“Holy stain miracle worker! I spilled a teeny-tiny jar of gold paint on our relatively new living room carpet and recliner on November 26th. After a full-on panic cleanup attempt of my own, I was convinced all hope was lost. Not only did it stain a large area of the carpet (which I somehow made even bigger), but it also ruined the bottom section of our recliner. At its worst, the giant stain honestly looked… well… like diarrhea. Not great.

I called a few carpet cleaners who were less than optimistic. When I spoke with someone at The Spot Man, they were fully booked until January 5th, but was assured that if it could be removed, letting it sit wouldn’t reduce the chances. Over the next month, I fully accepted that we’d be replacing the carpet and even canceled my appointment.

Thankfully, wires were crossed and Daniel showed up anyway -and I’m so glad he did. This is a long way of saying: he is magic (and incredibly friendly). In about 45 minutes, our carpet and chair looked brand new. No stain, no shadow, no evidence anything ever happened.

Moral of the story: hire The Spot Man. For spots, for big messes, and for situations you’re convinced are beyond saving. Highly recommend!“

After posting my concerns below, Kathy from Aladdin Chem-Dry contacted me and asked if they could come back to give the remaining stains another try. They did, and Tim really worked hard to re-clean the trouble spots. In fact, he re-did even more than I'd asked. Better yet, Tim offered to come back and give it another go if any of the stains re-appeared. In my mind, that's a stand-up business.

Original review: Immediately after the cleaning, everything looked great. The hardest carpet stains were still visible, but less so than before cleaning. Now more than a week later, many of the original stains in both carpet and upholstery are re-emerging. Not sure what happened in between the day of cleaning and now. The service person worked super hard on the job, so it isn't an issue of effort. I wish I'd known what to expect from the end result.“
