I rented at two Mills properties over the years. Generally, my experiences were unremarkable, save for one issue: after one Missouri tenancy ended, they failed to return my security deposit within the 30-day legal deadline. It was withheld for over 60 days.
At that point, they were eligible for a 200% statutory penalty, but I wasn’t about to waste even more time and a morning in court (or more likely, I'd be waiting around for a settlement) over a measly $250.
Ultimately, an unflattering review was what got me my money back.
