About John Cochran VA Medical Center
The John Cochran VA Medical Center is a healthcare facility that is gradually improving its services. The doctors and nurses are professional, warm, caring, and compassionate. The facility is clean and provides fantastic clinical care. While the ancillary staff are getting better at their jobs, there have been some negative experiences, such as an encounter with a rude and negative-attitude phlebotomist or an unfriendly staff member. The facility's cafeteria offers a decent variety of food at reasonable prices, and there is also a Starbucks on-site. The medical center has provided excellent service to veterans, with appointments being on time and wait times being short. The facility also has a small shoppette that carries essential items. While the overall experience is positive, the VA needs to establish better contracts with nursing homes in the St. Charles area to expand veteran services.
I had to go to ER in my community. Needed surgery. VA John Cochran had me direct admitted where i spent 2 days on 6 North. Shout out to all my surgeons, anesthesiology and floor nurses Haley and Donette. Surgery went well. Care was extremely good. Admission and discharge was easy. All staff was friendly, courteus. Meals were good. I can not say enough about my inpatient stay.
These people are the finest around! They have done nothing but be great. Makes me have faith in humans again ever since I have dealt with them. Thank you very much!

My first time visiting JC VA medical facility was truthfully the highlight of my day. Valet members were so helpful and were insistent on putting a smile on my face before even entering the building. I needed water and the woman running the cafe at the front of the main building gave me ice cold water free of charge. I was reading signs trying to figure out where to go on the first and second floor, and each time, a VA team member stopped to help direct me. I had multiple appointments here that day and every provider was so attentive to my questions and helpful with directing me where to go next or what to expect.
