Whenever I pass through St. Louis, I make it a point to stop at Dead Wax Records. The first time was at their old location. The inventory is of high quality. If you're looking for quantity, this is not the place for you...if that's your thing, then go to Record Exchange. Whenever I go to Dead Wax, I come away with 4 or 5 records in excellent condition and priced very fair. With Record Exchange, they have everything, but the condition is not very good and the prices are high.

Tidy and compact space with a well-organized selection of used vinyl. It’s nice to have another store in the city that focuses more on used records than brand new pressings (e.g., most of the inventory at the ironically-named Vintage Vinyl). Most importantly, this place had a great reasonably-priced copy of McCartney II, an album I’ve been trying to find for months. Will definitely be back based on that alone.

This record store was such a treat to visit! I stopped by around 10 a.m. on a Saturday and there were only two other people in the store. The records are extremely well curated and well priced.
