“Bilja is by far the best barber for men in the South STL area. I have been going to her for the past 4 years and will not go to anyone else. I’m sure other reviews will mention the same thing, but you will notice that Bilja prioritizes taking as much time as she needs to take to ensure you are happy with the end result (even when there is a queue of people sitting and waiting to get their ears lowered). She makes sure to not take too much off as once, but as she has advised in the past, “once it’s off, it’s off”.Be sure to explain exactly what haircut you want (or pull up a picture on your phone to show her an example of the style you are wanting) before she starts and do not be afraid to make additional tweaks as she progresses with your cut. She is very patient and understanding. There is a VERY SLIGHT language barrier present between English and her native tongue, so be sure to speak clearly, simply, and directly when communicating your desired hair style and or adjustments you would like her to make, before completing your haircut.Pro tip: take a picture of your haircut (front, back, sides, and top) after leaving and save them to pull up and show her next time to expedite the process.Bilja accepts walk-ins most days of the week. “Man John is a beast at cuttin hair. Black , white, straight hair or kinky n curly. It don't matter John and his other barbers take their time and get your cut right. Razor sharp parts. And linings. Overall great experience. I preferred this experience to most other haircuts i've gotten. No nonsense, just be a man and be prepared when you get there. Charged me 12 bucks but I enjoyed it (even with the slight miscommunication) and tipped heavy. Doesnt take long.

I did get lucky cuz I didn't have to wait.

It's hard to find a barber these days who understands how to handle a feminine female who just happens to keep a low cut!! She does appointment only but she still uses the phone and I love that! Ms. Breeze is a St. Louis legend.“
