    They said they don’t make appointments for them to come turn your gas back on but on the flyer they hang on your door. It says call to make an appointment to have your gas turned back on, so what sense does that make?

    Reported a brownout to blackout issue to Ameren in my home on 9/1/25. I had a licensed electrician out on 9/3/25 who spent 3 hours thoroughly working through my entire electrical system.

    The electrician came to the conclusion that there was an issue with the power coming into the home from the main electrical line (aka this was an Ameren issue). The electrician said he was more than willing to speak to an Ameren technician/representative to help better explain his findings.     I cannot wait until Missouri finally has a real competitor so Ameren loses its stranglehold on electricity. Right now, they have a complete monopoly — and they’re bleeding people dry because they can.

    My bill has TRIPLED just from keeping my house at 78–80°. Before this summer, I was paying around $150. Now I’m paying over $300 for basically the same usage. And here’s the kicker: I’ve had my AC completely OFF for almost a week, and my usage is still showing $130+ with a projected bill of $250. That’s not “service” — that’s theft.
