Unfortunately, I had a very distressing experience at Oak Grove Animal Clinic. We brought our 5-year old Havanese here when she suddenly fell ill, showing symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea right before a planned trip. Despite their ability to accommodate us at short notice, the level of care and urgency displayed was deeply unsatisfactory. Upon arrival, Dr. Messner suggested it might be something minor like a virus and proceeded with some basic tests. After a hiccup with their equipment, they informed us that nothing alarming showed up in the blood work. They administered a shot to stop the vomiting and prescribed medication for the diarrhea, assuring me she would recover soon. When I tried to ask questions about signs I should be looking for, Dr. Messner was dismissive and told me he'd be shocked if she wasn't better by Friday (this was Tuesday). However, within hours of leaving, her condition deteriorated alarmingly, with her diarrhea turning bloody. I called back, only to be reassured again that this was normal and the medication would help. This advice turned out to be gravely incorrect. By evening, she was lethargic and unresponsive, prompting an emergency visit to another hospital where we were told she was hours from potential death due to severe dehydration and other critical conditions. The oversight from Oak Grove Animal Clinic not only prolonged her suffering but also resulted in significantly higher medical bills that could have been mitigated with proper initial care. I regret following their advice because all bloody diarrhea is in fact a concern, and will not be returning or recommending their services. Their dismissal of serious symptoms was unacceptable, and it's a mistake I won't make again.

We recently had the most wonderful experience at the Oak Grove Animal Clinic with every single person we talked to. Our dog had to have emergency surgery and the only places open that could see her were chain animal hospitals that are extremely overpriced. My mom uses Oak Grove Animal Clinic for her pets and reached out to Dr. Neal and explained what was happening with my dog. He took time to call us after hours and look at her lab work and X-rays and got her in the very next morning for IVs and surgery while keeping it all under the price that we were initially quoted. From the front desk to each doctor in that place, we were greeted with care, kindness, and truly felt that our dog was in the best hands possible. We absolutely cannot thank the team and staff at Oak Grove Animal Clinic enough for saving our dog's life, but also making something so scary and serious seem so seamless. Highly recommend this vet to anyone that is looking! They also do boarding as well.

Oak Grove Animal Clinic doesn't have the time nor patience to adequately care for your pet. After two "brief" visits with Dr. Grower. My ten-year-old poodle, Knopa, was left with more than a two-month wait for a surgical appointment and no supportive care! She presented with an inflamed mass on her eyelid that caused distress to her. Dr. Grower did not take an interest in Knopa's past medical history of Meibomian Gland Adenoma. When asked if the cancer could metastasize into her lymph nodes, he assured me that dogs don't have lymph nodes in that area. While I appreciate his veterinarian knowledge; this is her second tumor locally in under a year, and dogs have superior and inferior lymphatic vessels running along the top and bottom of their eyes connecting to the LYMPHNODES. Under Dr. Grower's care, Knopa was subjected to delayed treatment as he misdiagnosed the mass as an infected puncture wound and prescribed a week of oral antibiotics instead of detailing a plan of treatment based on her presenting symptoms and past medical information. Knopa's previous vet would provide a corticosteroid in the interim to alleviate the inflammation and pain. It was a struggle to get any quotes for the upcoming surgery. Past vets have provided a detailed breakdown of where the money is going and what care is being received. The Oak Grove Animal Clinic gave me $450 written in pen on the receipt. My family has routinely brought their pets to the Oak Grove Animal Clinic for years. After two short interactions with Dr. Grower, we will be looking elsewhere for any care beyond that of a vaccination.

I've been here hand full of time as they were highly recommended by a handful of people on Facebook. Unfortunately every time has been more disappointing. Firstly, it never feels friendly, the staff are not welcoming whatsoever. I understand that it's a fast paced and sometimes stressful job as I have worked in veterinary care & animal care for a very long time. No matter how stressful a day, you have to at least make customers and their pets feel welcomed. The vet that I have seen a few time came into the room, did not say hello, did not introduce himself (but I was sure to find out his name, it was Dr. Messner), got right on his computer, I assume reading about my dogs and what we were there for even though he definitely should have asked me directly, what we were there for and what my concerns or questions were.. He started the exam, still hasn't spoken to me, showed no interest in my dogs at all which is just unusual to me because 1. Their old vet in California where we're from was always excited and welcoming no matter how busy or stressful the day, he'd immediately ask if it's ok for them to have a treat and then he'd get down on the floor with them, pet them and give love before his exam. He would always go above and beyond for every single one of his patients, you could tell that he genuinely loves animals and was really an amazing vet and person. I got the complete opposite vibe from Oak Grove. And 2. even if someone doesn't care for people much (which I can understand), you'd think as a vet, they'd at least show some sort of compassion or love for animals, and I didn't get that feeling from any of the staff at all. The vet has always been very short and quite frankly not very helpful, informative or really interest in getting to the bottom of my concerns and what was going on with my dogs at the time. The receptionists sometimes have a hint of attitude and also, not friendly or helpful. Now onto my bigger issues. I took my 16 year old Chihuahua here for his dental, I told them that since he is so old I would really prefer if they removed his remaining teeth as he only had maybe 6 left at the time. I absolutely would not have asked for this if my dogs teeth were in good health and weren't loose at all already, but none of his teeth were in great condition, he can't eat anything hard/crunchy to clean the tartar off his teeth, the gums are receding and kind of loose around the teeth on most of them and It's highly unlikely that I will put him under for another dental in his last years as he will be very old, anywhere from 17 years to maybe even 20 years. They pulled 1 or 2 I believe, so now my old little guy is gonna end up with painful rotting teeth in a year or two and I'll likely have to put him under again which is definitely going to be hard on a 17+ year, 6 pound Chihuahua. A few months later I decided to go to them again, obviously not for their service but for their very reasonable pricing. I took my 4.5 year Rottweiler in for a dental. She had some pretty moderate plaque and tartar on her teeth but overall her teeth were healthy, she did have one area of receding gum but I didn't feel it was nearly enough recession to pull my fairly young dogs otherwise healthy tooth. On top of that, they did NOT call me to ask my approval, they pulled her tooth without my permission and failed to inform me at all throughout the whole day she was with them, over the phone when they called to let me know she was good to go and even in person, the tech handing her over didn't say a thing about it. I found out from the receptionist when she told me I'd be sent home with pain medication I asked what the pain medication was for and she responded with quite the attitude and passive aggression, "for the tooth that was pulled..." as if I knew. Needless to say, I do not recommend Oak Grove Animal Clinic.

Adopted a dog from them. 10 days later, spent $1000 trying to keep her alive after they didn't treat her and misdiagnosed her. She suffered for 10 days because of their negligence. They saw her 3 times and ran blood work. Missed she was in liver failure. Her adoption included a spay, which she never was, called about being refunded for the spay and was told no.

Our vet was closed and we needed to have our pup seen so we were referred here by a friend. The staff was friendly and caring; the vet very personable and attentive to our concerns. We plan to use them again in the future.

We were referred here by another clinic, and wish we hadn't been. The Dr. is not personable, you don't have to be mushy sweet with us. , , just be willing to run some tests to find out what the cause is before you start prescribing pills. He didn't take the time to look at our dog or listen to what we had experienced. When our dog didn't improve, and we took him back three days later, still not further examination, or ex-rays or looking in his throat to see what the problem was. He only prescribed a different pill. All of this was over the recent holiday weekend, we took our dog to a different vet that came highly recommended, he was shocked that there were no ex-rays, or scope ran to see what the pain in the throat was. After talking to friends, she explained how the OG clinic also missed a simple diagnoses causing the death of one of her dogs. We wont be back, it's sad really, we tried using the local small town business hoping for a better experience, just didn't get it.
