After stepping into the world of Kenpo however I quickly discovered that in a real attack I was not likely to be wearing boxing gloves. I’ve never looked back and returned to kick boxing ever since. I’m a Kenpo student for life under the amazing instruction of Grand Master Bill Boyd.“

In real encounters, I've found that I what I use the most is control techniques. I've studied karate, BJJ, muay thai, and others, but rarely if ever used any of it. I've found the hapkido to be the most applicable martial art to what I've actually had to use to control a suspect.“

“Although I was a student at another dojo, our dojo visited this one. I was impressed that the teaching staff took me aside and helped me in basic movements that I was having problems with.I want to run my martial arts school just like this one.“

The class for the littles is pretty big but the instructors are so kind and patient with each one of them. One thing I’ve noticed at every class is there are others who steps in and help with the littles when they see them struggling with something and show how proud they are of them when they got it. They sure do make every kid here feel important.“

12388 Natural Bridge Rd, Bridgeton“My son has been going to ATA for over a year now and when he first started he was the a little shy guy. After being in ATA his self-confidence has grown, and he doesn’t feel so intimidated by other kids whom are taller and older than him. He has been taking their leadership classes and now he is an excellent example of being a leader to his friends in school and on the mat! The creative and extreme classes are excellent, and mostly a lot of one on one training. Master Cather and her staff let the students create their own routines and help them master that routine, so they can take pride and ownership of something they have created. My son really takes pride in his martial art skills and encourages everyone to be nicer, a leader and not a follower, and to be more self-confident. I can’t thank Master Cather and all her staff for helping him out of his shell. He is no longer my little shy guy!“
