We have used Carter Pet Hospital for many years and they have been amazing with our dogs even in the rough times. The staff is caring, professional, and truly takes the time to make sure your pet is comfortable and well cared for. They explain everything clearly and treat our pup like family. It’s such a relief finding a veterinary team you can really trust and even though we no longer live in the area, we still come back just for them and couldn’t recommend them more!

I can’t say enough good things about Carter Pet Hospital. I started here in July due to getting my puppy, Finn! The staff has always gone above and beyond with a smiling friendly face when getting there and keeping Finn from being anxious at the vet. I look forward to many years to come because it’s just that easy going here!

After 15+ years as a client, I finally realized Carter Pet Hospital no longer puts pets first.
They claim they’re “booked” same day unless you pay a $95 “urgent care” fee - yet even when I’ve said it’s not urgent, they still schedule me same day. On my most recent visit, I made it crystal clear twice that it wasn’t urgent. They gave me an 11am slot.
After the stressful trip with my anxious dog, we get into the exam room and are told it’s being treated as “urgent care” anyway and I’d need to pay the $95. When I pushed back, the receptionist spoke with the doctors and came back with two options: go home and come back Monday without the fee, or stay and pay it.
That’s not animal care - that’s a shake-down. After years of loyalty, it’s obvious profit now comes before pets at Carter Pet Hospital.

We have been taking our pets here for 10+ years up until now, recently we brought our dog in for a checkup because she suddenly was having a really hard time putting weight on here back leg(s). We scheduled a regular check up since our ex-veterinarian friend said it didn’t seem urgent, and when we arrived we were told that we had an urgent care visit which is a $95 upcharge! We explained that on the phone we specifically said we didn’t need an urgent care visit and were told that we can come back in 3-4 days or pay the fee for the current appointment, again we have been coming here for 10+ years! with multiple pets! I’m not sure what their current game plan is but it’s blatant that they care more about how much money they make rather than providing quality care at a fair price. The doctor was nice and personable and let us explain the miscommunication (thankfully he didn’t charge us the urgent care fee) but EVERYBODY else didn’t have a lick of empathy or care for our dog and that breaks my heart.

Carter has been our vet from the beginning to the end. They took care of my best boy for regular checkups and his urgent care needs. They also assisted us when it was time for him to leave us. They provide a clean clinic, wonderful staff and some good vets. Thank you Carter for taking care of my best boy.

I have been a loyal customer here for years, but the last 4 times i needed to get my pet any care the response has been, “we are completely booked for 5-7 days, however, we are happy to book an urgent care appointment at an inflated price”. I booked an appointment at Bear Creek pet hospital the same day, they made time for my pet and didnt ask me for additional money. I believe the primary concern at this location is not the care for pets but maximizing profits.
