I'm a recovering salon-hopper, but after trying out tons of salons in Kansas City (and having been to many other salons in big cities across the U.S.), I can indisputably say that Julie at Speak Salon is the best. She is a master sculptor of hair - dry cutting is an art and she has perfected it. Her salon is refreshingly calm, clean, and comfortable in an organic, unpretentious way. You will never be satisfied with another haircut after trying Julie, especially when they start washing your hair, cutting, and finish in 10 minutes, then style it like you will never style it in your life unless you don't have a life.

I have gone to Julie at Speak for over 12 years now for cuts and highlights. She is not only a lovely human being who I enjoy getting to spend time with every visit, but she always does such a good job with my hair! She knows how to turn what I’m wanting into reality and in a way that is manageable and functional for real life. I can’t recommend her and her studio enough! Very chill vibes without being pretentious. I always look forward to booking another visit.
I've been going to Julie for many years now and consider her as family. She has never disappointed me. I have fine hair and usually get a Bob cut, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter.
